FBI Visits Petraeus' Home, Sources Tell NBC News

Pete Williams and M. Alex Johnson

FBI agents visited the home of former CIA director David Petraeus on Friday, two sources with knowledge of their visit told NBC News.

USA Today reported Friday that the agents went there to "interview" Petraeus, but it's unclear whether he was at his home in suburban Washington. Officials said the visit didn't indicate any new development in the FBI's months-long investigation into allegations that writer Paula Broadwell improperly received or stored classified documents while she was working on Petraeus' biography.

Maybe the general was going to spill the beans and they’re heading him off at the pass. Just a thought.

How many general officers are left that would refuse to obey an order to fire upon American citizens on American streets?

That’s right. He was purged. I hope he becomes our General Pinochet.

Either that or maybe he isn’t the General that we all thought he was.

I am more disturbed by Petaeus’s failed counter-insurgency doctrine than his personal peccadilloes. However, if his lover was given access to info she shouldn’t have had, then it does rise to a breech of national security, from which there should be criminal proceedings, etc.

He’s bound to be pissed. He needs to find his cajones and go for it.

Failed counter-insurgency doctrine? I thought it worked.

No matter, as long as Hitlery is free, no one else should go to jail.

He’s a perfumed prince, first class Obama supporter. NOthing but a low skilled PR machine.

And America doesn’t need a Pinochet. We need a return to the constitution, not an exchange of one dictator for another.

A Pinochet would be temporary and could then return us to the Constitution.

You are calling for a military coup to over throw our constitutional government?
