Roger Ebert, the longtime film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, passed away Thursday, the newspaper reported. His passing comes just one day after publishing a note on his website that he would be scaling back work as he continued his battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.
Ebert was hospitalized last fall with a broken hip, of which his wife tweeted was caused by "tricky disco dance moves." Last May he unveiled plans to reinvent "Roger Ebert Presents at The Movies" on PBS, and Tuesday he said he will launch a fundraising campaign via Kickstarter in the next couple weeks.
Ebert left the show in 2006 when he was diagnosed with throat cancer, which cost him the use of his voice.

(that’s my review)
No tears shed here. I here it’s pretty warm where he is right now.
Jess Franco died on April 2nd.
Roget Ebert died on April 4th.
Who's next? Has anyone called Ron Jeremy to check on his health?
Um, yeah, mama always said, “If you can’t say something nice...”
Lib politically but made his mark with all kinds of film reviews in print and on TV. He said of 1994’s “North” “I hated hated hated HATED this movie” and gave it zero stars.
The thumbs up/thumbs down Siskel and Ebert were spoofed in Hollywood Shuffle (IIRC) in a segment called “Sneaking Into
The Movies”. The two guys who snuck in gave one movie The Finger instead.
I’m only hearing the sound of one hand clapping.

The balcony is closed.
Two thumbs up...
Did he EVER get around to reviewing Obama 2016?
one less libtard
RIP Roger. Yes, he was liberal, but when he put that aside, which was far more than most liberal commentators, he was pretty good.
I really didn’t know much about him. Years back, before my family got cable, he used to have some show on one of the networks at night reviewing movies. I’d watch, but I was a kid who was bored, so I didn’t pay much attention to his reviews. Even then, I knew he was liberal. I really have never followed him or am not aware of what he said, but I’m assuming, based on the comments, he didn’t like Republicans and conservatives. That’s par the course in the Hollywood crowd. They hate us. I’m just going to say may he RIP, and he’ll have to stand before God and be accountable for his actions in life...we all will.
I wish I could say that I missed him but I never had the chance to shoot at him so that just won’t be true.
The surgery on his head was a massive hatchet job to try and cut out the cancer. For his sake, the cancers return wasn’t a long and drawn out affair.

Agreed. He became a vile and nasty man carrying around that elite thing that so many of those on the left strut their stuff with. He deserves to rot in hell. Good riddens.
