North Korea seen moving mid-range missile to east coast: reports

SEOUL | Wed Apr 3, 2013 9:13pm EDT

(Reuters) - North Korea has moved what appears to be a mid-range Musudan missile to its east coast, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said on Thursday, quoting multiple government sources privy to intelligence from U.S. and South Korean authorities.

It was not clear if the missile was mounted with a warhead or whether the North was planning to fire it or was just putting it on display as a show of force, one South Korean government source was quoted as saying.

I have no hope in Obama whatsoever. Anyone on here that has read my posts knows I have no love or trust for that man or in his ability to do somehting as simple as pour piss out of a boot with instructions written on the heel.

But I do trust God. The Bible is full of instances where God has used evil men, even pagans, to accomplish is will and protect his people. If it comes to conflict with “the Best Korea”, my prayers will be for God to use Obama. God is great enough that Barack Obama can not stand in his way. Kim Jong Un can not stand in his way...and to quote Casper ten Boom, “there is no safer place than in the center of his will”.

"NK rhetoric and threat have their own well-honed choreography. Plan, timing, execution, and climb down. He is way off this path. Things are not going right."

Thank you very much for telling us what is happening. When threats from the enemy show that he will probably do the worst, should we make the enemy as angry, hysterical and useless as possible? Should we maybe avoid allowing the enemy to be calm?

CA isnt a total lost cause..the areas that make CA the way it is is San Francisco and Los Angeles county..the other areas are pretty darn Conservative..but since Los Angeles county is the biggest country it takes up all the Dem votes..I really doubt any missile could hit California, or San Francisco, but if it could, you bet Obama would protect it, he needs to protect his base otherwise CA might have a chance at going Red for once

The Norks have been doing this stuff for years, and they’re actually quite good at it. Totalitarian regimes want a perpetual state of war, real or imagined, so that they can keep their populations enslaved. If they’re lucky, they’ll win concessions just for showing up to negotiate peace. This has worked for them many times in the past and is likely to win again. I think it’s very highly improbable that they want to be completely obliterated in a real nuclear slug fest. The leadership doesn’t care if the general population dies of course, but that isn’t where this is going.

Here is what I always ask myself. What would Reagan do?

Hummm

Ronald Reagan would not have let it get this far out of hand.

You’re right. The commies always infest the big cities.

I wouldn’t trust obama to do the right thing. Half of CA could be wiped out and he wouldn’t really care.

No way does 0bama let all of those dim voters, reps, and Senators from CA get blown away. If TX was threatened, it would be a different story.

One cheap drone could take this rocket out on the pad.
THE issue is Seoul. Seoul is the hostage as well as our dependants in-theater. Pull them out immediately and the world will believe we are serious.
We are now loading Guam up with another 15,000 dependants.

Who remembers how NK and the Chinese solved their satellite problems when Cliton was in charge?

That’s the game now...though I think Kim’s way in over his head......wonder if Pooty-put is a little more than concerned about now.

Funny you should mention Zero’s response (or lack thereof). According to a story I heard during my intel days, we responded to a possible NK threat much differently 20 years ago.

During the run-up to (and execution of) Operation Desert Storm, there was concern that the Norks would use the opportunity to roll south. Back in those days, we supposedly had the capability to fight to MRCs simultaneously, but it would have been tough.

Just to let the DPRK know where we stood, the U.S. asked the country that represents us in Pyongyang (Sweden, I believe) to set up a meeting between a senior U.S. official and his North Korean counterpart. One version I heard said the meeting occurred at a Swedish embassy in another Asian country; other accounts suggest it too place in Europe.

The session began with the DPRK emissary delivering his ususal propaganda blast. The U.S. official just sat there and let him finish. The American’s response was simple and direct: “as you know, we are currently engaged in the Persian Gulf region. You should not interpret this as a sign of weakness or our inability to respond to threats in Northeast Asia. If you make that mistake, you will suffer the consequences.

With that, the American official shoved a small map across the desk, depicting all of the cities, military bases and other facilities that would be targeted in a full-scale nuclear laydown on the DPRK. I was told there were literally hundreds of red target triangles on the map. The graphic showed that we were prepared to hit them with everything, from ICBMs and SLBMs, to tactical nukes.

With that the meeting ended. And North Korea was as quiet as a mouse during the first Gulf war.

As for the people at the border....last I heard the buses who were suppose to bring them back to S.Korea were stopped at the border...and why so few came across initially..... So I suspect they are still there unless Kim allowed the buses thru after all.

Very dicey situation to say the least...all around.

Obama will do squat. Remember the BP spill—how many weeks did he take to do anything? I would rather have Hillary in charge.

I'm beginning to think Lil Kim may be a figurehead, or at least being run like a puppet by the old guard.

It just makes no sense that someone in his position would begin his reign by putting his whole country at risk of annihilation.

Besides, he's more worldly than his old man was, and is much more in tune with the world outside North Korea. Seems he'd be wanting to take his country in a new direction to establish his own legacy as a leader. He's certainly old enough to have thought it all through.

I don't think the current trajectory of events is Un's idea at all.
