Google is famous for catering their home page to that day's major holiday or event. Google's home page has celebrated other religious holidays while failing to celebrate Christian holidays in the past. Well, what's today's most noteworthy event? According to Google, it's labor leader Cesar Chavez's 86th Birthday.

WHY would anyone use google ?
STARTPAGE is much better - ie MUCH BETTER.
DOESNT GET ALL THOSE EXTRANEOUS HITS
and doesnt save all that info about you.
STARTPAGE is built for the consumer, not the other way.
btw HAPPY EASTER !
I have my default set to duckduckgo.com now, and have had for about a year. Google has pretty useful maps, but often bing is more up to date. Google was trying to outthink what I wanted and had too many “hits”. For now, duckduckgo works.
Also, Google doesn’t like Opera.
I would rather goole search- “Jesus is the Lord” 100 times today. :)
I don’t think this is really worth getting upset about. No one has to care about anyone else’s religion. I’m sure they didn’t want to alienate millions of customers by favoring any one religion over another.
And I see right next to Start Page’s search bar that it says “Powered by Google”. Does that bug you?
Search Engine DogPile actually has a cute Easter page.

There’s number of great search engines as alternatives to Oogle.
As someone said, Duckduckgo.com is also good.
OK I may catch heck for this, but I just changed to Bing. On my bookmark.
No more Google.
Ever.
Bing ALWAYS acknowledges Easter. If you use google and are a Christian you have some serious soul searching to do.
Google has been doing it for years! In fact, I checked google.com to see who they’d honor instead of Christ this year.
And like clockwork Bing acknowledges Easter. I’ve been using Bing for years and I do not miss Google at all. I love the new daily photo bing does as well. That’s what got me hooked. And the Search is really good too (Now).
Good for you! See my previous post on it. You’ll enjoy bing better anyway.
Today I switched by browser to default to Bing. This was the last straw: Google’s official motto is “do no evil”, but it seems to me that evil is *all* they do.
My God, you guys do this every year.
You think they give a hoot about what you think they should have on their browser?
And suggesting people delete it as their search engine is going to do anything?
You want to hurt them, demand that your 401k fund divest themselves of Google.
In the end you will see how insignificant those moves are.
You, me, none of us matter to Google.
So why get your panties in a bunch over this every holiday.
me too!!!
All of his protesters came from 8 of the 9 parishes of the Catholic Church in East Los Angeles, the district I ran for the Assembly in 1980, and no one of them ever worked on a farm.
He was a flat out communist and the only reason he was able to organize the farm workers was because Bank of America refused to make any crop loans unless the farmer signed his labor agreement.
