So sorry to hear this. I met him at a WH FReep when Clinton was still in office. I met you, AGreatPer, Dr. Roual, BMWCLE (?), Angelwood, Exit62 (or 142), Jimmy Valentine’s Brother, and so many others on a Sat. morning FReep. A Great Per brought his young son with him to FReep. He also brought him (in tuxedo) to the Inaugural Ball in 2001. I was an interesting and kind person. He helped me plan my trip through PA back to Wisconsin. Told me where NOT to stay, etc.
May he rest in peace and the Perpetual Light shine upon him.
Prayers for his soul in this Easter season. May he rest in peace.
Thanks for the phone call Kristinn. I am sorry to hear that you confirmed his passing.
I remember sitting with him during the rallies when I was in the wheelchair, or not walking much, a few years ago.
I miss so many of the old “names” on FR. It is nice to see them return to honor the FReepers from past events. I hope we do not continue to find this is the reason they are not posting!
Thank you for posting this, Kristinn.
I will always remember the humor and gentlemanly demeanor he brought to our Freeps here in the Philadelphia area. He loved America deeply, and had a keen sense of justice.
Once at a Clinton appearance in Philadelphia, there was a Mummer string band playing outside his venue. Dirtboy and I were doing the “Mummer’s strut” to the song “Oh, Them Golden Slippers”, when AGreatPer started singing “Oh, That Lyin’ Clinton”. We all started singing and hamming it up, to the point that even the leftist demonstrators on hand were laughing.
It shames me that he passed without my noticing for so long. I’m not around here much, anymore, but that’s no excuse. I am my brother’s keeper.
More sad news.
He was special to me. We used to Freepmail quite often. I’m very sad to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.
I need to drink a Dixie Beer in his honor.
This is very sad news. I remember him fondly and he was a great FReeper, a gentleman indeed. Thank you for posting the photo, Kristinn, and thank you especially for calling him. There are so very many oldtimers who are no longer posting, and i often wonder how many of them have passed away without us realizing it.
Rest in peace, AGreatPer(son).
RIP good friend, it was a pleasure to know you along with the rest of my extend FR Family.
So sorry to learn of this. Thank you for posting, kristinn.
Rest in Peace, AGreatPer.
PING!
I was beginning to wonder why I hadn’t seen his posts for a while.
RIP to a great Freeper. He will be missed.
Thanks for letting us know, kristinn.
God Bless AGReatPer, may he rest in peace.
Yes, a great per was A Great Per! He told me that story about the mix-up, but said it gave FReepers the choice on how to finish it in regards to him!
It seems as tho I just read a post from him, but realize it was during the primaries.
There was one thing that he would do that endeared him. When we would post on the same thread, he made a point of saying a special “Hi!”. He was like that ————a very friendly FRiend, and A Great Per. It was a pleasure and an honor to have FReeped along side him all those years.
R.I.P. my FRiend————
I met AGreatPer at a White House Clinton Freep in 2000.
We had a great time standing next to each other, holding signs and talking to the WH tourists.
We would “greet” each other when we found each other on various threads.
Sometimes by Freepmail.
I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was A Great Per-son, and a real patriot.
Kristin, it was kind of you to let us know.
You are so sweet to remember AGReatPer, Kristinn. God bless you.
I remember AGreatPer...he was one of the Grand Old FReepers. Sorry to say we are a dying breed. We’ll all meet again one day in Heaven, where our victories may be easier to achieve.
Rest in Peace, dear old faithful FReeper.
I just caught this on the sidebar. I really should have known something was wrong too. I had not heard from him in so long, and he used to contact me on private mail and chat about how things were going. I met him at the rally/dinner for the House Managers. He was a very nice man and made you feel like you had known him forever. May he rest in peace. He will be missed. He should be on the memorial wall.
May God rest AGreatPer's soul, and comfort his family...
