CHICAGO Proposed legislation would make it illegal in Illinois for dogs to get behind the wheel of a car. Dogs in the driver's seat on their owners' laps is a dangerous but common habit, said state Rep. Dan Burke (D-Chicago), co-sponsor of the bill. "Because I travel, I can't help but observe the number of people with dogs on their laps," he said. "It is a public safety concern. If a driver is distracted, certainly it would be a risk to other motorists on the road." Under the proposed law, getting caught with a pet in the driver's seat would carry a $25 fine, though a motorist couldn't get pulled over unless committing another driving violation. But it's still perfectly ok for cats to drive.
CC

Bill Williamson and his dog Beauregard drive Santa into the Captiol tree lighting
ceremony in this Dec. 2008 file photo. Williamson, who was known throughout
the region for his 1926 Model T and the two dogs who drove it, died Tuesday at
the age of 88.
As it should be ;-)

That would double the fine to $30.
Don’t know if it passed in Jersey or not, they wanted pets belted in, or $200.00 fine if caught!
Never mind the crime, drugs, corruption, taxes and fees, etc. plaguing a formerly great city
Lets worry about the things that REALLY matter
I won’t let my pooch drive...he always gets a ticket for failing to yeild.
OR
The first driver is attentive to the road conditions, is wearing a seatbelt and has both 'hands' on the steering wheel. The latter, not so much.
Gezzz..I can't imagine having a job where I can just drive around and everything I see I don't like, I make up laws to stop it.
Punxsutawney Phil behind the wheel was the funnies scene in Groundhog Day.
But it appears the one on the left does not have a license.
funniest
