A landslide on Whidbey Island in Washington state pushed one home 200 feet out into the water and forced the evacuation of about 20 people, officials said.
Early Wednesday morning a 1,000-foot-wide section of a cliff on the island fell away, blocking the beach-side road below, The Seattle Times reported.
Police evacuated about a dozen people from homes below the cliff by boat because of the road blockage, KOMO-TV, Seattle, reported.

Not at my house here on So. Whidbey Island. However there are a lot of Obama bumper stickers around here for sure.
I thought I saw that one at the top of the hill a few days ago; the garage was right on the edge and there was still some yard left.
I could be wrong. It’s been known to happen.
I hope you are safe. I pray for God to save His remnant.
I agree.
The general theme of these comments make me think this news story should be moved to Religion. God allows cancer in order to bring more people to him? God causes landslides in left-leaning locales? A mudslide on an island after weather events caused a weakening of the foundation is proof that we are living in the End-Time (v.97,597)?
But since this ISNT in religion, Im free to say that I think those ideas are wrong and borderline insane.
Coupeville/Penn Cove.
Or, it could be that folks built their homes to close to the edge of a cliff that has been eroding since the very day that the island came into existence.
Further, these homes were built on a planet that has been changing with each passing hour from the beginning of time.
God doesn’t need to toss houses over a cliff, mankind it doing a great job at killing itself.
I live in a mostly red county, about 60 miles to the west of Whidbey Island. I estimate that within the next few weeks, I will be bringing out my riding lawnmower for the season. If that mower has a dead battery, I will now know that it’s because of the libs that infest my state.
BTW, for all we know, those homes were owned by conservatives.
Thanks. I take it you both live in Seattle. Nice place. Not sure I could handle the rain though.
At least they are on the opposite side of the island.
Home of the world famous Penn Cove mussels.
Reinforcements have arrived. Me thinks you are about to get flammed. But, being the stand up FReeper that I am, I agree with you. This landslide is not a sign of the end of time, except of course for somes houses.
Coupe ills is the second oldest city in Washington .
Didn’t know there was earth movement insurance for property, but a friend of mine in Oak Harbor sells it at his agency.
Cheers!
Coupeville.
yeah, look, I qualified my statement that CARE must be taken. I spend lots of time in the pro-Obama state of Florida...I don’t doubt we too will have problems...
My point is that God does judge all men—and America is way overdue for her deification of sex, the sacrament of which is abortion and now the celebration of sodomy...the moral decay we are facing—economic AND social—is a stench. And we’re doubling down.
Luke 13...
Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
Jesus answered, Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on themdo you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
That isn't what I said.

Wow ... I know exactly where that is ... I used to live about 2 blocks from there.
It really is a beautiful place and the fishing is outstanding
TT
I arrived in Seattle (from Alabama) in my teens. It was a cool place then with lots to do and little crime. It’s still a pretty place but absolutely infested with nanny-state lefties.
BTW: It sprinkled this morning but the sun has come out and it is gorgeous right now. Off to play in it again while it lasts ;-)
