LOL@The princess bride quote!!
“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Almost never...
B-2s have landed at Diego Garcia, Guam, and can land at Gloucertershire.
Almost never...

The article never states what U.S. airbase the B-2s flew out of and then back “home” to. I think Obama isn’t blinking in the face of North Korean antics like the last three morons who held his job office previously.
What was the purpose of announcing this to the world? Have the exercises and of course re-assure our allies in private. However, seems like an unnecessary escalation in the war of words/actions to broadcast this, knowing that North Korea will respond in kind in some form or matter...
Obama would very much like a war with some non-Muslims in order to use up American weaponry that would then not be replaced.
You forgot the sarcasm tag.
I think the only base these expensive behemoths can fly out of is somewhere in the mid-US....I forget which state. They all fly nearly 20 something hour missions from there and then fly home.
They have been mainly used in the past to try and justify they are still relevant in an irregular war (i.e., bombing the shit of of some Taliban vs. nuking the hell out of the politburo in Russia).
Fly a 24 hour mission from Missouri or wherever, drop a few 2000lb bombs on a camel and declare mission success and flyaway home! Bingo!
Even at the height of it’s planned efficacy (before the wall fell), it became a fantastically expensive jobs program for California, and a whole host of other states. Now it’s just a joke and isn’t even stealthy.
The damned things can’t even be left out in the rain on the tarmac for cripes sake.
They couldn't use Guam because it would tip over if they stayed there to long. :~)
Two other bases have been equipped to handle B-2s -- Guam and Diego Garcia.
Still needs the rain slickers, though...
Both bases have been equipped with the climate-controlled hangers.
I figured...I was just being cute....
Imagine, a radar coating that is diminished by rain!
This thing is a behemoth. Built to avoid radar and present a smaller RCS signature. Still can’t completely hide from L-band or lower frequency radars, though. It is an anachronism.
Would also make a tempting target for Five O'Clock Charlie if the Norks were so inclined.
When the product development cycle is something like twenty years, it's very likely that -- by the time an aircraft enters service -- it's already technologically obsolete.
Im told Kerry was in Vietnam...
I’m told “he got himself wounded”...
I'd be a million dollars you would have praised the exact same action done by the Bush administration.
You can't just reflexively criticize stuff just because of who does it.
Nope, I know about hiding technology. Would have felt no different if Bush had done this, but he would not have done this.
I drove through Alamagordo NM regularly when I lived in NM and marvled about how quiet it was on the local Ham repeater. I knew a few of the locals, one was a Navy MARS buddy of mine. He would talk to me but it seemed they were the most unfriendly group in the state. That was long before I learned about the Stealth Fighters.
I had many friends that worked at White Sands, Rat Scat, for Lockheed Martin, at Kirkland AFB, at Fort Huchie Koochie, at Los Alamos. They were all very friendly and we did some great community electronic construction projects. But not Holloman AFB, where the fighters were stationed and tested.
My wife and I were married 8 years (now 42) before I knew what her father did for a living. He worked at Pantex for 42 years. It was a place that was not discussed, every. Until one Christmas we visited Amarillo and my in-laws and opened up the Globe News and here was a 2 page spread about the plant. Father-in-law was a division manager there for 15 years. He never talked about it.
We did talk about techie things, he was an EE. We did talk about management insanity that companies are all plagued with. But all I ever learned about his trade was from other sources. I took him for his last visit to the plant just over 3 years ago, just over 1 month before he died.
I truly miss him.
Now, I repeat, No I would feel the same way about W if he did this.
Show me his DD-214
China must take delight in prospect of USA Strategic Bombers on standby alert to drop THERMONUCLEAR bombs up-wind from their borders. Kerry, Hagel, Brennan and Obama are dirt-dumb classless global neophytes. North Korea IS China’s loyal little paper tiger.
Please send an adult to Beijing for tea, crackers and reason. Was Dennis the menace the best and brightest diplomat available ?
