TAMPA (FOX 13) -
When a Tampa woman rented a car from Enterprise, she got a hidden extra: A fully loaded snub-nosed revolver. The gun was under the driver's seat, within reaching distance of where her granddaughter had been sitting.
"It could have slid out from under my seat and into the back seat, and she could have picked it up and either one of us could have got shot," Linda Ashmore exclaimed.

Lucky lady! When I rent a car I never get a loaded gun with it!
She should have kept it, but instead she had to shoot her mouth off (in a manner of speaking) ....
Why can't I ever find anything cool like that?
Bonus!
I got a free pocket knife and a half a pack of Pall Malls last time I rented a car.
Maybe I’m just paranoid but I always check rental car trunks for human bodies or any other contraband before I leave the lot.
Well, sheet! STFU, Lady, LOL!
I always check the box for the extra insurance and the snub nosed 38 when I rent a car.
Shouldn’t her granddaughter have been restrained in a child safety seat, and unable to reach down and pick up a gun?
Also, shouldn’t she teach her daughter that if she finds dangerous things, she should NOT PICK THEM UP AND PLAY WITH THEM?
I trained my kids about that before they were 3. You can’t watch them every second, and there are many dangerous things people leave lying around (like that woman who let her kids eat condoms someone left at a mcdonalds playyard).
Be sure to reload it before you return it or else they charge you $20/round.
Many moons and years ago I worked afternoons and nights for National Car Rental @ TIA (Tampa). I was a driver....
I never bought one beer or bottle of wine the entire time I worked there. The vehicle returns were always rife with goodies.
I did turn in cameras and such....no guns though - you can bet those would have disappeared.
Maybe she didn’t think she would pass the background check.
Something similar happened several months ago. Sounds suspicious. Do they rent cars to FBI, DEA or DHS agents?
***Looks like an RG-14 to me.***
RG pistols are junk. This looks like one of those $12.00 .22s they used to sell back about 40 years ago.
Back in 1969, HP WHITE did government mandated tests to “prove” this was a “Saturday Night Special”. They found this to be one of the most accurate .22s they ever tested.
A super accurate piece of junk.
What about trace evidence? Do you examine the car that closely, or are you suspicious if the car looks like it has been cleaned too well? ...LOL ...Sorry, I guess I've been watching too many forensic detective shows...
RG stands for “rotten gun”. They are among the worst ever made.
Always check for drugs. It’s hell to get arrested for somebody else’s dope.
I only look for ‘macro’ evidence. Anything not obvious I can always blame on my inattentiveness and the previous renter.
I found a whistle in my Corn Flakes once...
