Test of the CCI Stinger, 32 gr copper-plated hollowpoint, from the Ruger SR22 handgun. The SR22 has a 3.5" barrel. Will the short barrel affect performance of what is typically known as a varmint load for rifles? There is also a "bonus" about halfway through the test.
BTW, this ammo was purchased during the "shortage" of early 2013, from the Nashville Armory. First "Stingers" I had seen in several months.
VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING AMMO TESTS ON THIS CHANNEL:
Please understand that these techniques are merely representations to indicate possible ballistics; they are not intended to replicate real-world street results. You are solely responsible for your ammunition choice and insuring that it functions in your handgun.

The CCI Stinger is a vicious little round.
You will also notice an improvement in most brands of .22WRF.
Work fine in mine. They are extremely loud however, as another poster noted (ear protection required).
If you take a little notch out of the tip of each .22 the bullet will tumble and that makes it devastating at close range. Or should I say at the range you’d normally use a pistol.
Any .22LR firearm with a standard chamber should be okay for Stingers. However, if you have a good target-grade gun, I would avoid using 'em in that. .22LR "Match" chambers are a bit too snug for the Stinger, due to that cartridge's slightly longer case.
In regards to terminal ballistics, it was a predictable no-go.
Give them a try. If your rifle functions normally they’ll be just fine.
That is if you can find any Stingers these days.
There was both a very effective team of Mafia killers in the 1970s, who were known as the “.22 caliber hitters”. They were believed responsible for some 20 killings since 1976, and were never arrested for those crimes.
Likewise, Joseph Christopher, a psychotic racist and serial killer, was known as the “.22 caliber killer”, and over the course of a single year, he was believed to have killed at least twelve, and wounded numerous others. He was a US Army infantry private at the time.
Yes, it is not a big round.
WOOPS! MY MISTAKE! IT WAS CCI MINI-MAGS, not Stingers THAT WOULD NOT OPERATE MY AUTO GUNS!
Hey, it was 37 years ago. Memories fade.
Interesting. I have never heard a physsician address these issues before. I have head a guy who deals with these issue professionally recommend Winchester Silver Tip.
Not a physician.
But he did work for the Medical Examiner's Office...
Although they have gotten better, rim fires still aren’t as reliable as center fire. At least in my experience.
Put them between the running lights. It will do the job.
Fine pistols. Double plus good 22.
I am using Yellow Jackets because there are no Stingers to be found anywhere. I managed to squirrel away 200 before the big .22lr shortage. They give significantly more pucker factor than the regular American Eagle round nose lead bullets I practice with.
The names Principe and Gallina sounded familiar but I had forgotten the story.
Is 22 WMR the same as .22 Magnum — I think it is. That and .22 Short are the only 22s available in our local Walmarts and other ammo stores.

I was impressed by the Federal HST in .45 ACP.
Those things look like a tarantula when they’re dug out of the gel.
I like that truncated cone pill.
I just checked my WalMart for 22 Mag and no go.
I have to have some more then my small supply when I take the wife to try the new LCR I just got her — one box was all I could find the day I bought it.
Interesting lecture. Most die from hemorrhaging; plug those holes. A good chance no exit wound if shot by handgun. Speaks about the body position of the victim where the round ends up in places you don’t expect. Skin is surprisingly strong. Expected changes (in 2008) to trauma surgery based on Iraq and Afganistan war experiences...makes sense. The survival rates are high if you get the gun shot patient to surgery within the golden hour.
