Yes, I read that. CDC counts each infection. And that makes the > 110 million number pretty useless. There is no way we know how often a certain infection recur in the same person.

If a person has herpese AND HPV AND genital warts, he or she SHOULD be counted 3 times. You may not be at risk of one or another but the potential for the spread of disease is still there. Again, why are we doing background checks on gun owners yet NO LONGER REGISTERING those who have communicable diseases?

On the way home this evening on public transit, I overheard a very sexually explicit conversation between what appeared to be two high school kids (one male and one female). Under discussion were (a) masturbation, (b) the effects of masturbation on libido, (c) how best to clean up after masturbation, and (d) how to have sex with one's boyfriend (this was the girl talking) in the living room, under Mom's blanket, while Mom was in the kitchen doing dishes.

The boy and the girl appeared to be casual acquaintances, probably classmates, not boyfriend and girlfriend.
