ANNAPOLIS, Md. (ABC7) - The Maryland Senate has passed a measure that would allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.
The measure was approved in a 29-18 vote.
The bill now moves to the House of Delegates for consideration.
According to law enforcement sources, tthe driver who caused a fatal two-car crash in Glenn Dale Monday morning is an illegal immigrant who is also unlicensed and uninsured.

Adding N.C. to that list.
So now I never have to worry about an illegal alien causing a fatal car crash now that they will have a drivers license.
I am so proud to live in Maryland ... :-(
I just heard that Mexico is allowing illegal immigrants driving licenses as well.
I just helped my young daughter get her first drivers license. She had to have her original birth certificate, her Social Security Card, and 2 proofs of residence - like utility bills.
What right does the state have in making law abiding citizens jump through hoops like this while they give illegals who have NONE of these a free pass?
CWII will hopefully set things right.
Why don't they stick with the same theme & get the licenses illegally?
I just heard that Mexico is allowing illegal immigrants driving licenses as well.
They get the driving licenses after they sign up for food stamps and free housing and free medical care.

I have no trouble with theirgetting a drivers license, right after they show proof they have a one million dollar insurance policy.
Great. Now they’ll be coming into Virginia not only from North Carolina but Maryland, too.
North Carolina is already processing the license applications. See the following thread.

....The state Division of Motor Vehicles says it processed 314 applications statewide on Monday to young people who qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The Obama administration initiative extends valid federal work permits to qualified applicants brought to the U.S. as children without authorization. ...
I remember when Americans believed in the rule of law. They still do, but unfortunately the illegals do not and the thug in our White House does not.
Wow, that didn’t take long. They were down to NM and Washington. Now it’s moved to MD and NC.
With Klintoons ‘Motor/Voter’ the illegals in Maryland are about to gain full citizenship.
Democrats must be estatic now that illegal aliens have legitimate identification to pass a background check when purchasing a firearm.
This is a one party state and they do not give a whoop for what the citizens want.
It is all about buying votes.
In a year or so I plan to be gone, with my income and my moidest investments to a safe harbor state.
Only in America can one:
Invade the country, get a “path to citizenship”.
Driving while an illegal alien, get a driver’s license.
Brought in by your illegal alien parents, get in-state college tuition fees.
What a country!
Unless I’m mistaken, as per the REAL ID ACT, any citizen of a state that allows illegals to have drivers licenses may no longer use their licenses to board domestic airline flights. They now need a passport. Am I wrong?
