“Time” editor just loves European socialized medicine. Ping to Today show list.
Rana is Latin for Frog. In this case she sounds like a croaking toad. If she likes Europe so much, she should GO THERE!!!!
THEY’RE BANKRUPT RANA!!!! IN PART BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!
Are you an IDIOT????
So... the editor of a little-read magazine appears on a little-watched show.
“I do think you get the big efficiencies in costs when you have one system that is connected.”
The ‘efficiencies’ are from reduced quality and service not from having one system.
Yup, she really has strong credentials - editor of a lib magazine that loses money.
Probably a journalism major (read...couldn’t pass a high school math class, and spelling “science” is the limit of her technical prowess).
Such intellect, such achievement.
I await her expertise on medicine and lament the fact that she is so, so much more intelligent than mere physicians.
Was that before or after they gave you a battery of electroshock therapy treatments?
You know, I used to agree with the idea that if women ran the show, societies would tend be be less violent, more harmonious since women are the "gentler" sex. But the woman, not the man, was deceived by the serpent in the garden. Eve is very susceptible to deception and as I see women usurping men in authority while they abdicate their role in the home, I see them falling for great many lies and deceptions. (Adam is complicit for sure, but he generally is not as susceptible to deception as Eve - he just goes along with it.)
TIME’s up.
How many people read your little rag today Rana? A couple of hundred?
People in dentist offices across the country put down their Time magazines en masse.
I always as libs...if Europe is so great, then why are you here?
My ancestors, thank God, made heroic efforts to get out of Europe. Nowadays Europe’s only a plane ride away - go back if you think it’s so wonderful.
Two points about this Rana F.
1. She liked the socialized medicine system because she had two small children. This is typical—if you don’t need anything but routine health care for family matters, socialized systems can handle you efficiently and effectively. You only need a general practitioner to look at your kid and tell you to give them some child-strength pain medicine and to rest. If you have a serious and uncommon health challenge, are older, or need specialist’s expertise then you are going to take health care more seriously and experience socialized health care with less satisfaction.
2. Why is a magazine editor being queried about her views on socialized medicine? The answer is because she is one of the elite in the social circle of the liberals. However, she is no expert on health care systems. Her opinions are no more useful or valid than those of movie stars who are trotted out because they can attract the attention of dullards.
Speaking as a male, a balance has to be struck. Women by nature favor softer aand “easy” solutions to problems. Men by nature favor harder and stricter solutions. Blending the two makes things work. Like anything in life, sometimes soft is better than hard and vice versa. More women would tend to agree that simply giving something to someone who has problems is a good solution. More men would say that giving someone a fair shot is better than simply giving the thing. The teaching a man to fish paradigm.
Rana Foroohar????????????? who? what kind of name is that? ding dong anybody home?
Obamanation Counterculture File.
Rana == frog.
“Rana is a genus of frogs. Species include such archetypal pond frogs as the common frog of Europe, brown frogs, and the New and Old World true frogs, including the various species of leopard frogs and the American bullfrog. Members of this genus are found through much of Eurasia, North America, Africa, Central America, and the northern half of South America.”
Just sayin’.
I also lived and worked in Europe for 16 years. Used my private company sponsored private Insurance.
Using “Europe” when talking about living in England under socialized medicine is just wrong.
Not every European Country has socialized medicine. For instance: Germany, is often cited as the perfect country for the single payer program. Nothing could be further from the truth. That country has an array of private companies that you can select. It just mandates coverage, It doesn’t have Insurance premiums, rather a percentage based insurance participation rate.
