Two points about this Rana F.

1. She liked the socialized medicine system because she had two small children. This is typical—if you don’t need anything but routine health care for family matters, socialized systems can handle you efficiently and effectively. You only need a general practitioner to look at your kid and tell you to give them some child-strength pain medicine and to rest. If you have a serious and uncommon health challenge, are older, or need specialist’s expertise then you are going to take health care more seriously and experience socialized health care with less satisfaction.

2. Why is a magazine editor being queried about her views on socialized medicine? The answer is because she is one of the elite in the social circle of the liberals. However, she is no expert on health care systems. Her opinions are no more useful or valid than those of movie stars who are trotted out because they can attract the attention of dullards.

I also lived and worked in Europe for 16 years. Used my private company sponsored private Insurance.
Using “Europe” when talking about living in England under socialized medicine is just wrong.
Not every European Country has socialized medicine. For instance: Germany, is often cited as the perfect country for the single payer program. Nothing could be further from the truth. That country has an array of private companies that you can select. It just mandates coverage, It doesn’t have Insurance premiums, rather a percentage based insurance participation rate.
