Rand Paul: American's wont pick crops for $8/hour when they can sit at home and get welfare

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has emerged as the key advocate for secure borders, keeping to the rules and an organized handling of the millions of illegal aliens now inside the United States says there is a clear goal that Americans should have for the newcomers: Make them taxpayers.

“What I’m saying is let’s get them work visas, normalize them, tax them, make them taxpayers,” the senator said in an exclusive interview with WND reporter Taylor Rose.

...

“You can’t have open borders and be a welfare state,” he warned. The solution is a secure border – and a process where someone on a work visa doesn’t get welfare, or someone with a green card doesn’t get welfare.

Paul said there are glitches, too, in America’s social services. There shouldn’t be 60,000 new people on the roles of the disabled every month, he said. In other words, America’s safety net sometimes is just too generous.

The reasons some Americans won’t work for the $8 per hour for an agricultural field worker, for example, is that they would rather do nothing and collect higher government benefits, he said.

RE :”admitting he thinks that illegals should be able to vote.” False.”

True, he admitted it on FNS to Chris Wallace when asked specifically. He was doing everything he could to avoid talking about it.
He SPECIFICALLY said that illegals could apply for US citizenship without leaving the country, that is a huge jump in line for them.

Plus he told that hispanic group that they are natural conservatives (really?), but forgot to mention to them he was going to propose days later eliminating those agencies and raising SS age.
If he believed what he says he would have pitched it to them. I would have respected him for that.

I would love to know how many loaded new Silveradoes turned up in little Mexican villages after the jobs started disappearing in ‘08. Rational self-interest dictates that thousands of illegals maxed out charge accounts, took out car loans from GMAC and stripped ‘their’ houses of everything that would fit in the back of the new pickup before heading south. Self-deportation courtesy of the elite idiots who set our financial policy.

Having been in the military, if we really wanted to secure the border with Mexico, we could. Not that hard.

Rand Paul is a dangerous man who is fooling many conservatives. He is like his dad, only better at acting normal. If n when he runs, he will get the vote and support of many Democrats, and it is not because they share our ideals.

Correction, it wasnt on Chris Wallace FNC, Wallace let him skate on the issue. It was Neal Cavuto who asked Paul real questions .

INTERVIEW: Does Sen. Rand Paul Support a Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants?(Fox News Insider March 20, 2013, Rand Paul with Neil Cavuto)

Cavuto asks Paul how his bill is different from Rubio bipartision bill, Paul replies that there are many similarities and here:

Rand from clip : “ I dont think they have a NEW pathway to citizenship. I think their bill like MY bill would say that you dont have to go home, you don't have to leave, if you been here for 10 years and you are working you dont have to go back to Mexico. But you do have to get in line, the same line as someone in Mexico City. So if someone in Mexico city wants to get in line to come to the US to be a citizen, then its the same as those we are going to give work visas to already here, they have to get in that same line. Not the front of the line the same line that already exists. Its kind of confusing when people say 'this is amnesty' or 'this is path citizenship'.......

Its kind of confusing when you don't want us to know what you are supporting Rand.

You are talking about two lines Rand, one in Mexico city and one here in the US where they will get Obama-care. Stop lying and saying its THE SAME LINE!

They have the ability to apply like anyone else.
America has always worked that way.

No kid America has not always worked the way the AMNESTY pushers want it to go...

These are not immigrants like “anyone else”

These are illegal aliens and they wont be applying the way anyone else has to...

other people AKA immigrants have to apply and be accepted BEFORE they ever step foot in the US

these illegal aliens are already inside the US, here ILLEGALLY...

AMNESTY is a “special path”

HELLO ???

The welfare would NEVER stop....

Senate Votes Down Sessions' Amendment that would Prevent Amnestied Illegal Aliens from Accessing Taxpayer-Funded Healthcare.

Well that's just it.

So Rand is out there making all these warm and fuzz arguments to woo hispanics, and days later he proposes his fantasy budget that those same people reject in a heart-beat.

But what will he do when an amnesty bill includes Obama-care which it will most certainly will? He may reject it.

In fact the amnesty bill should simply say on that, that if you want legalization you MUST meet ALL the requirements of Obama-care insurance coverage WITH NO government subsidies and no medicaid, for the 10 year or whatever probation.

Some years ago I worked in an empoyment agency. We would call people asking them to interview for $10/hour jobs.

The most common response was “Why would I want to do that when I’m making almost that much staying home and collecting unemployment?”

And let me assure you that a LARGE number of them are working “under the table”, double-dipping, as bartenders, waitresses, painters, landscapers, movers, etc.

They don’t even think there’s anything wrong with it. And we don’t enforce it.

...and on top of that, now they’re getting foodstamps, welfare, free health care, rent subsidies, heat subsidies, free college, and a free Obama smartphone.

Is it any wonder that our country is broke?

its truly sad that he thinks he has to focus group and play to the illegal crowd...

He’s offering them a work visa.

You’re offering to break up their families, put them in concentration camps and send them back home.

Nobody supports your position.

It’s too costly, it’s inhumane and a huge challenge to try and do it successfully.

Actually, you'll find lots of folks who will support exactly that. These people are criminal invaders that have no respect for the rule of law. Any that we find should be put on ships that release them off the coast of southern mexico so they'll have a nice long walk back. If we make it impossible for them to get jobs or welfare, they'll self-deport.

You can't tell me that with the huge survellance apparatus the government has created to monitor us that if they wanted to actually identify these illegals, that they'd have any problem doing it. The fact that the Feral government purposefully doesn't do anything about the use of duplicate SSNs tells you all you need to know about how hard they are actually working to deport these leeches.

What exactly does he mean by "normalize"?

RE :”so the line forms in mexico city then...
its truly sad that he thinks he has to focus group and play to the illegal crowd...”

they are all lining up using the exact same failed arguments of 2007.

GOP/Rand :’They can apply to work here and then get citizenship here after being illegal here but it is not amnesty or a jump ahead in line because they will have to wait just as long as those who didnt come here illegally, but without going home and waiting on that line with them. But its the same line even if one group gets to work here in the US and gets medicaid and other stuff as a reward for breaking the law, and the other gets nothing because they stayed behind instead of breaking the law...but they both END up in the same place conservative freedom loving citizens libertarians ..marriage.....trust me...borders....immigrants....hard work...natural conservatives....terms like 'amnesty' and 'citizenship are confusing'....BLA-BLA-BLA’

Rand may very well oppose a Senate bill, but if he doesnt then nothing he says will mean anything.

I was just about to turn off the lights and put the computer to sleep and this live-one shows up equating not giving illegals the vote to rounding them all up to put concentration camps. His replies to me were near incoherent.
One minute defending citizenship, the next denying that Rand was for it, others he accused me of wanting to round them up to deport them to force them to be citizens.

It was like he was claiming that anything short of US citizenship is deportation. looks like he was scared off anyway.

He was entertaining after the initial surprise

Those that come illegally of course. This is not brain surgery and it’s gotten to the point of ridiculous. Which of course, is the only way the left gets away with their crap.
Just pile more and more on it so the average person gets so confused they give up!

Sick of it all, it’s pathetic!
