According to Arab media reports that have been verified officials assassinated by his bodyguard of Syrian President life Heavy security around the hospital a my mother in Damascus and in-hospital
Man, you just can’t trust ANYBODY these days....
Maybe the translation is that he was shot by his Iranian body guard, but is not dead???
The headline says Assad is killed by a bodyguard
Otherwise, if he isn't between life and death, he could be on the other side of life or the other side of death.
:))
No, Saturday is.
So basically the awkward wording is due to the translation from the French. Basically it says that Assad was shot by an Iranian bodyguard and depending on who you believe or read, he’s either dead or close to it. Sounds like Damascus is locked down and in a state of siege and there will undoubtedly further developments to follow.
Whew!
Obama can relax now....
AQ will now be in charge and the perpetual mid-East turmoil he craves, will close that region to oil exports.
NO! I’m NOT talking about Syrian oil.
I’m talking about regional turmoil.
He was shot and killed by one of his bodyguards. A safety device was set up at the Hospital so he wouldn't be shot and killed again.
Sorry - says that Assad was shot by his Iranian bodyguard who has the odd last name Jakoby, and that he is in a hospital, between life and death.
Yea looks like bad translation. Says “assassinated” but think currently it should be “attempted assassination”.
Some just need killin’ twice.
All these dictators are larger than life....
Now Assad just has to worry what’s in his IVs, if he’s able.
Syria was targeted by the OBL-led radicals because it stood by and maintained the status-quo when we invaded Iraq in ‘03-’04.
Same, same with Syria and Egypt and Tunisia.
Not that I’m sympathetic of the Assad family ...but they have kept the radicals in check...
...and by default, because BO is on the side of his killers and war without victory or end, I’m not.
So far BO is 4 up with the b.s. {{Arab Spring}} lie, but I’m still cheering for the losing team and that’s that.
Your best protector is you!
Apart from the skill factor, there is the matter of reliability. A man you hire to protect you can be hired by somebody else not to. It is nerve-wracking to be dogged about by armed men on your daily rounds, and it is also both conspicuous and un-private.
Some years ago, I undertook to train the personal guard of a certain chief of state in pistolcraft. When the course was completed, I was able to address my client thus:
"Your excellency, 24 of your 28 men are now distinctly more efficient with their sidearms than the generality of those who guard the President of the United States. They are very good, but I don't know who they areI hope you do."
He knew what I meant. One of his predecessors in office had been murdered by one of his own guards. Of my students who previously employed bodyguards, most now do not, except as car watchers.
Your best protector is you!
