If the Russian navy was a threat I’d be worried but except for the excellent leadership of Sergei Gorschov the Soviets and Russians have been failures at sea. Their fleet now is a few class leaders of modern warships and vessels left over from the Cold War without the necessary maintenance.

There is a majority of Sunni states in the Arab league. Assad is (or was.....but probably still is) an ally of Iran, a Shi’ite state.

Basically it says that Assad was shot by an Iranian bodyguard and depending on who you believe or read, he’s either dead or close to it.

A dying or mortally wounded (in the actual correct sense Joe) Assad would be the worse possible situation. He will fire the WMD missiles he has that are much more accurate then plain scuds, if he is dying but can still issue orders.

Thanks for that explanation. Have trouble keeping, the players on this world stage in that part of the world, within an understand of whom is who, what is the which way did they go routes, and why our boys and girls in D.C. are so confused as to support our enemies. I get lost so can use all the help one such as yourself can supply. I have no idea for if I did I would not type such long non-informational narratives. Honest, my brain is scrabbled. I come to FRee Republic to make sense of it all and posts like yours make it clearer. Did I make my point? Heck, I am so confused I haven't a clue.
