A sprinkle of this...a dollop of that...
In the sport's early days,
baseball umpires were unpaid volunteers.
They were often a spectator and, sometimes, a player,
chosen by the home team with the consent of the rival teams captain.
In 1878, the National League of Professional Base Ball Clubs,
organized two years earlier, mandated that home baseball teams
pay umpires $5 per game.
Sir T.O. Gimlette, a British navel surgeon,
believed that drinking straight gin
was unhealthy and impaired the efficiency (whoda thunk? LOL)
of navel officers,
so he began to dilute it with lime juice
hence, the Gimlet.
Pigeons and hummingbirds have tiny magnetic particles
in their heads that respond to the Earth's magnetic fields
and are used for navigation.
According to a survey,
women prefer blue bedrooms more than other colors;
men are happier with white bedrooms.
(this is a fact LOL)
Just who would have been better at saving Private Ryan, eh?
Fighting alongside Americans and British
during the D-Day invasion of 1944 were 15,000 Canadians.
And it was the Canadian troops who were the first
to reach their planned objective.
The FR Canteen is ALWAYS
Come in, sit down.
Grab a cup of joe, or tasty tea.
Mingle a bit, chat with the troops or family member.
There's always plenty of conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS in the FR Canteen.

((HUGS))Good morning, Ladies. How’s it going?
A day late, I know.....
My goodness, it is almost 9pm at your house and it is below freezing. It’s almost the end of March and you can’t put your heavy coat away yet.
