"Its two flavors of amnesty, both bad......Even if amnesty is good for Rubio or Paul, its not good for the Republican Party, for America or for Latino immigrants for that matter, who are entitled to a legal system of entry, rather than being told that their best route into the country is by bribing a coyote and trying to make it across the border."
For some reason I am much more inclined to welcome strangers as opposed to blame them for all my problems, round them up, expel, and/or kill them.
Rubio can’t win a general election. He’s very nice and he has some idea that there’s a Constitution, even as far as to consult it when the wind is blowing generally from one direction, but he’s a light weight.
When he gloms onto this amnesty garbage, he’s out. the right will hate it and the left (the uninformed swing voters) will know instinctively that he’s a dufus and a weakling.
Paul - the left won’t like him and now he’s in a corner with this amnesty thing, getting the lightweight talk show people (O’Reilly, who talks very strong on some issues then turns soft and shallow when it comes to thinking things through, like on this, ditto Hannity) to goober on this thing “Oh yes, I can support that if, well, it just sounds reasonable” blecch!
In the world of watching boys fight it out, that we’re in, playground rules apply(doesn’t get more complicated than that, my opinion). Where are these guys?
Paul - strong one day, the next he’s on the teacher’s side against his buddies. He’s eating lunch with no one. Can’t trust him.
Rubio - everywhere at once. too many friends, no best bud, wimping out in a fight
Cruz - no time for the playground fight. He’ll play with serious players, otherwise, he’s got work to do. He’ll eat lunch with friends, then he’s up and out.
Ms. Barath uses this analogy, too, I see:
Op-Ed: Obama, the Conniving Kid from Down the Block

The kid from Philly meets the kids from down the block this week.
Remember when the kid from down the block was hailed as a hero for saving the little boy he had pushed into the pool himself just seconds earlier, after he looked around to make sure nobody was watching him?
Fast forward to 2013, what if that type of kid was beginning his second term as the American President, and what if he was going to visit Israel?
That is because you don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Research the subject of illegal immigration just a little, find out the real costs to our country. Find out about the illegals that come here not to work but to be criminals.
“For some reason I am much more inclined to welcome strangers as opposed to blame them for all my problems, round them up, expel, and/or kill them.”
Oh stop with your emotional LIES...NO one has EVER mentioned killing them...except YOU!
Do you care about the rule of law?? THEY don’t! The law’s remedy for illegal entry is DEPORTATION!!
You want to welcome them...go right ahead, but STOP thinking we ALL should...some of us have tolerated this invasion with our blood.
There’s plenty of natural resources here to support them, and they should support themselves using the same. If they break into homes and steal . . . well . . that’s what self defense is for. Most of them know better.
Sounds like someone needs to chug some bresws (or NOT) in Tuscon, San Antonio, El Paso or Houston, just to name a few American cities.
Check it out. Oh, and bring Senator Paul with you. He needs the same thing.
“Theres plenty of natural resources here to support them”
Well, heck! Let’s just let the entire world in...that’s where we’re headed.
How many?? How many foreigners a year would you allow in??
Do you know what 20 million people/illegal aliens look like?
Do you realize if this AMNESTY happens we are in effect creating the equivilent of adding over 17 more states to this country? And thats not even considering the chain migration that comes with it.
Please look at what giving amnesty to as many as 20,000,000 illegal alien foreign nationals actually represents. More than the population of 16 states and DC!
According to the 2000 census, 18,785,867 is the total populations combined of Wyoming, Dist. of Columbia, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Maine, Idaho, Nebraska, West Virginia, New Mexico and Nevada.
THINK about that!
Ping-a-ling
“The sales pitches all depend on assuming that conservatives are dumb.”
Shhh. His meds are kicking in. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.
And these natural resources belong to no one? They are laying on the unclaimed ground waiting for someone to pick them up? To what natural resources are we referring? Crops/food? Someone labored in a field to grow those. Oil or mineral wealth? Someone owns these and significant resources in terms of effort and investment are required for extraction. Are they claiming 'free' land to grow their own crops? Please clarify. Most value is created. Naturally occurring value is already owned in the US.
And just how many of them CAN we support? Surely there is a finite limit?
Those of us who have worked in the real world find the idea of natural resources there for the taking to be an absurdity.
Those eight (8) words are the most salient points in this story, and the least to happen - they should at least be honest about it.
Sadly, these men being honest with their voters is their main problem.
Honesty from our elected officials, along with other government employees, hasn't happened in decades.
Even sadder, we the people, are so accustomed to being lied to, we no longer are surprised by it.
What part of hospitality don’t you understand? Bring ‘em in. Properly educate them. Adopt ‘em. Put them to work. We don’t have to support ‘em, but we can damn sure teach them how to support themselves. We will be blessed. This is no time to be niggardly. Gawd, what a bunch of whiny cry babies when it comes to this stuff. Like we’ve got time to worry all damn day about people who breathe the same air we do.
Same goes for healthy folks who want to sit on their ass all day and mooch - like certain union folks. THOSE need to be dealt with, too. Laughed at for starters. Then put to work. And if they don’t want to work, then THEY get kicked out, or incarcerated.
“For some reason I am much more inclined to welcome strangers”
A stranger is someone you don’t know who comes to the door to sell you the newspaper.
We are talking about illegal aliens who broke the law to enter the US and are not supposed to be here. If you are not supposed to be here that means you need to leave or be “expelled”
“What part of hospitality dont you understand? Bring em in. Properly educate them. Adopt em. Put them to work. We dont have to support em, but we can damn sure teach them how to support themselves. Put them to work! Put them to work!!!
WHERE???? What world do you live in! The employment rate in Mexico is better than here.
Hospitality??? Hospitality is extended to people who are INVITED!
Hospitality infers invitation. Defying armed border guards to enter a country illegally precludes the possibility of 'hospitality'. This the part of hospitality which you do not understand.
Bring em in.
Yes, we should show hospitality to any we bring in. Unfortunately, the ones under discussion BREAK IN, in defiance of our laws.
Properly educate them. Adopt em.
Why don't you pay for this? Its your brilliant idea.
Put them to work.
They defy our laws and armed border guards, fences, checkpoints, etc. to break in to our country. Of course they'll work for you. Just ask them nice 'cause they're so eager to serve, right?
We dont have to support em,
A minute ago we were going to educate and adopt them right? Without supporting them? Maybe in your delusion they will support us!
but we can damn sure teach them how to support themselves. We will be blessed. This is no time to be niggardly. Gawd, what a bunch of whiny cry babies when it comes to this stuff. Like weve got time to worry all damn day about people who breathe the same air we do.
Amazing display of illogic and delusional fantasy. You win today's prize.
