Exactly. Although both issues are symptoms of a society with moral decay, government debt will destroy us in a matter of years.

Indeed it will, but there’s pretty much the fig on the tree. I have read a video commentary on how Zechariah may have forseen the destruction of nations around the world by what could very well have been nuclear weapons.
I find it possible, that when the governments on Earth are all hitting some kind of collapse, loss of control, and loss of wealth, what normally wouldn’t happen, would happen, and they would nuke each other.
