Or you should stop buying into the creationist nonsense so much. I accept the fact of evolution, but I would never call or define myself as an "evolutionist." No one would - other than creationists trying to make stuff up. "Evolutionary biologist" (which I am not) certainly, but not "evolutionist." Not as bad as "evolutionism" which is just silly, but certainly not in usage among scientists.
See if you can figure it out.
I've never been able to figure out the symbolic vs. factual WRT the bible. Plenty of people have "met" Jesus and plenty feel they have actually "met" a man called Jesus. I have no idea which camp you're in.
