Perhaps you need to get out more.

Or you should stop buying into the creationist nonsense so much. I accept the fact of evolution, but I would never call or define myself as an "evolutionist." No one would - other than creationists trying to make stuff up. "Evolutionary biologist" (which I am not) certainly, but not "evolutionist." Not as bad as "evolutionism" which is just silly, but certainly not in usage among scientists.

See if you can figure it out.

I've never been able to figure out the symbolic vs. factual WRT the bible. Plenty of people have "met" Jesus and plenty feel they have actually "met" a man called Jesus. I have no idea which camp you're in.

What is nonsense to you makes sense to me. What makes sense to you does not make sense to me, though there was once a time when it did.

It may be because you haven’t met the Author yet.
:)
Seriously, though, some passages are more difficult to parse than others. I once asked a wise preacher about the meaning of a certain somewhat obscure passage. His response was, “Are you going to live that today?” I replied by asking, “How can I live it if I don’t even know what it means?” He said, “There are a lot of passages whose meaning is clear. Focus on living those in your life, and perhaps God will reveal the meaning of the more difficult passages to you.”

It is my sincere hope that you come to know Him as I have.
