DOLLYWOOD FIRE? REPORTED ON FOX AND FRIENDS

Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocy reporeted on Fox and Friends this morning, a large fire around Dollywood.
I searched the internet after watching their short videos that I found on Massive Pigeon Forge fire damages at least 35 cabins.

We firest went to this area last summer. stayed in Black Bear Ridge, then, too (which is why i picked it for a mini-vacation last week. :( )

we fell in love with that area of TN. Had never been anywhere near the Smokies before.

Sevier County/Wears Valley just stayed in my heart ever since last July. Couldn't wait to get back. (yes...figured out some backroads to avoid 441!)

It's a fine part of our country with some really fine people.

Your wife's family must be grieving. I'm so, so sorry.

We had a family reunion of 60+ people last summer. Rented 3 of the big homes in Black Bear Ridge.

Our first time in that area.....loved it/loved the people.

Went back just last week...on Black Bear Cub Way.

A lot of the homes in that neighborhood are run by EdenCrest Vacation Rentals. They run a great outfit with clean homes, quick, friendly service. Their rental office has a scripture mural on the wall.

thank you. Yes, we had 3 of those big homes last summer. My family has already messaged EdenCrest Vacation Rentals with our sympathies.

These homes are beautifully maintained with many having either scripture or some other artwork/wall decoration proclaiming faith. This is so devastating.

If you saw my eariler posts, this neighborhood is a beautiful area with edencrest.net maintaining a lot of the homes. They are a super group of people.

thank you...yes, the cabin we were in last week was at 848 Black Bear Cub Way. Last summer, we were up a few streets on Bird's Nest Way.

I was driving through Arkansas last week and saw more than a handful of brush fires on the way— one running along a ditch just below the shoulder of the road. I agree with you about the dry material and strong winds.

Nah....their rental office is OBVIOUSLY Christian. so no being surprised, there. :)

You should do a one week or two week vacation driving and seeing the "Skyline Drive Parkway" starting in Front Royal, VA and going southwest to the "Blue Ridge Parkway" ending in Highway 441, close to Cherokee, NC.

Check out the Shenandoah Vacation Package Options (the old name before they changed it to Skyline Drive Parkway) for hotel reservations, for the Skyline Drive Parkway.
Then check out the for the Blue Ridge Parkway, ( I really liked "The Peaks of Otter Lodge" and "Mabry Mill").
Whatever you do, do NOT rush this, but do it right.
Only travel the parkways in daylight, so you can see the beauty.
Stop and see the sights and walk some of the trails.

The Skyline Parkway is fabulous, everyone should do it. The Natchez Trace Parkway is fabulous too, I hope to do both of them again some year.
