From pride to disillusionment: a black leader sours on Obama
Baltimore Sun ^ | March 17, 2013 | Robert L. Ehrlich Jr

Posted on 03/17/2013 8:00:35 AM PDT by Innovative

...race trumped philosophy (albeit temporarily) in the eyes of the Harry Alfords of the world.

"I had hope because he was black. [But he's] hurting my members, my constituents. I had to back off. I had to represent my people."

To be blunt, Harry Alford is mad, and he's not going to take it anymore. He's concluded what many of us suspected all along: Barack Obama's hyper-progressivism is bad for black business (and all other colors as well).

Obamanomics did not cost the president his job last November. But life for Mr. Alford's members has mostly gotten worse. The indictment reads as follows:

-- A $5.8 trillion deficit in four years, a number that exceeds the total accumulated under all presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton (that's 53 total terms);

-- And a predictable parade of straw men ("the rich," "greedy bankers," "Fox News," "Wall Street," "private equity investors," "the NRA") regularly trotted out and in turn castigated in a continuous barrage of class envy/warfare speeches that would make George Soros blush.

Too bad they didn't wake up before the 2012 election.

But hopefully better late than never.

Obama is bad for the country, for business and everyone in the US, regardless of the color of their skin or national origin.

Mad that he, and his black business associates, didn’t prosper as much from Obama’s socialist, unconstitutional policies as he had hoped.

I say BS to this. He knew just who and what Obama was in 2008, yet supported him; and when all that was reinforced, he supported him again in 2012. So, now that Obama can not be a candidate again, NOW he starts being critical of him? BS! If Obama could run for a third term this guy would still eagerly support him.

Too little, too late. He must now pay for his racism like the rest of us. Damned racist.

" I had to represent my people."

I despise such talk. Be a human.

I was at first shocked to see this appearing in the Baltimore Sun, a hardcore liberal rag. But then noticed that it was penned by former Rep governor Bob Erlich. The idiot comments after his piece are good examples of the liberal mentality that pervades the People’s Socialist Paradise of Maryland.

I had hope because he was black.

You racist pig - I bet you STILL think of Repubs as the "racist" party.

Don't assume Comrade Obama will allow another election.

Just saw the Vogue magazine cover with Michelle on it, with
the headline, “How Obama is inspiring America.”

Laughable.

Mr. Alford should be told he has to be careful what he wish’s for.

He wished for Obama and he got his wish.

Now Mr. Alford can go screw himself. He brought this on us all.

“Too bad they didn’t wake up before the 2012 election.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Many did, I am not even ten percent convinced that Obama was actually reelected. I want to believe that anything is possible so I won’t claim to know but we DO know that there was massive fraud and I tend to believe that without the fraud we would be talking about the agenda of the new president Mitt Romney. In fact unless things take a big turn soon I think elections in this country are going to be as meaningless as they have been under any other dictatorship. The question is not whether the republic WILL be lost, it IS lost, the question is whether it can be regained, at present that seems to be a very dim chance.

Didn't read that far, but you can bet it doesn't say how he would vote for Obama again in 2016 if given the chance...

Well to be honest, quite a number of FReepers also did not support our candidate.

Keep that in mind.

Just saying.

Maybe because it was that "our" candidate didn't support us...it cuts both ways.

Really ? It is safer to assume that he didn’t than to start smearing folks like that. In one of the most honest answers I’ve ever heard to the question of ‘why did you vote for Obama’ Alford has made clear in previous posts that he only supported the president, because of his race, the first time.

That’s what happens when you’re a racist and VOTE just for someones skin color.

You get bit in the a$$. You made your bed, now lay in it, just like the rest of us ARE FORCED TO.

Your skin color no longer matters now.

How am I "smearing" someone who admitted voting just because of race? He smeared himself by declaring himself a racist. Just because he is now miffed at Obama doesn't mean he's not still a racist - unless of course he also denounced himself for it...
