Missile Field Number One was one of the areas where the Obama administration stopped construction in 2009. Congressional sources say it will cost at least $205 million to bring that missile field up to speed, more than it would have cost four years ago. These officials say the price of the missiles themselves also has increased.

An Obama administration official tells Fox News that the increase in interceptors is a logical response to an evolving threat from North Korea and that “anyone who suggests we should have stayed the course” with the Bush administration’s plan is engaging in “Monday morning quarterbacking.”

Hussein won't admit that he was wrong. But he was very wrong!

Bush’s fault, as usual.

Regan would have ordered the re-targeting of some ICBM’s right at Pyongyang, with the expressed order to use them if it becomes necessary. Unfortunately, we have a CIC (using the term loosely) that can relate better to the NK regime better than his supposedly own country.

Translation of “evolving threat?” NK is making steady progress towards mounting a nuke on a long-range missile capable of hitting the United States, and will likely have that combination within the year.

Funny, isn’t it, how Team Obama’s timelines have changed over the past five months? Before the election, we were told Iran was “four years” away from getting the bomb (Joe Biden’s words); now, Obama himself tells Israeli TV that Iran will achieve that goal in a year—or less. The decision to put more land-based interceptors in Alaska and California tells me the NK ICBM threat will soon be a reality.

And the final irony? The CinC who has done as much as anyone in the west to “enable” the Iranian and North Korean threats will now try to “run against them.”

What if the defense shield fails?
Better to make sure they can't launch.

Now back in the early 70’s, I spent 13 months in Korea. We had nuke missiles and listening posts up on the z back then. What ever happened to them? I always thought they were meant for the Chi Coms.

The Norks have no desire to nuke Alaska. What for? Same with the West Coast.

The Norks want the East Coast with it’s power infrastructure. And they could have it and we’d never know in advance.
