we’re conservatives, there are libertarians and liberals, but conservatives do not go into another party and then demand that party change to suit our needs after pretending to be one of them.
Why can;t liberals and others understand that Catholics of which I ma not have their faith and they won;t change to suit turd pokers, cross dressers, killers of babies etc
Sorry Mtt...we’re stuck on God and goodliness.
I wonder what the Gay Mafia in the Church thinks of the new Pope?
Liberals fret if liberalism isn’t present in every facet of life because its absence leaves room for free thinking. They can’t have that.
NBC is chuck full of godless Communists.
Notice how liberal = modern. It should be liberal = retarded.

Lauer isn’t worried about a Modern Church, he is worried that the Church will keep it’s values.
You cannot modernise a 2000 year old Church by accepting Sin.
Unitarians accept all the 'modern' ideas of liberalism. Gay marriage, global warming, socialism - you name the liberal idea, they believe it.
Would Matt Lauer go to a Unitarian Church and tell them they should condemn gay marriage? Or suggest they deny women access to the ministry? Matt would know that was rude - stupid - both... But with Catholics? No problem - cause he's prejudiced - and a jerk.
THERE IS A REASON WHY HE IS CONSERVATIVE, THANK GOD!
Catholics should suggest to NBC that they discard the “old, tired and failed, 19th Century philosophies of communism, socialism, and progressivism.”
Keep up with the times, NBC. Your philosophy was invented in the Victorian era, and it is a relic of the past.
Matt, you’re not Catholic, so why do you care? If I wanted a religion that supported gay marriage, I’d join the Episcopalians.
Soooo ...... how is “modernization” working for the Protestant churches that are trying it?
I’m not a Roman Catholic, but presuming to speak on behalf of my many Catholic friends I heartily thank Mr. Lauer for his concerns, so constructively expressed.
Lauer must be virtually apoplectic over the Pope’s first address to the assembled princes of the church and bishops, etc. It’s tone seemed borderline Lutheran.
I just love when a person of another religion, Matt being Jewish, tells us how our Church should be! the HUBRIS!!!
The first time I ever sat down and watched Lauer’s show all the way through was last year, when Sarah Palin was a guest. His rudeness to her was appalling. She was a guest, and he started out rude and obnoxious and continued all the way through, no matter how gracious she was.
I kept thinking, how can people watch this man? He’s awful. She wasn’t even running for anything, but he couldn’t keep his distaste for her even out of his voice.
I kept thinking, this is why America is in the mess it is. They can’t recognize a good person from a self-centered jerk. Obama gets up there and talks about himself incessantly and they don’t get there is something seriously wrong with him; Lauer is mean and rude and they actually watch his show.
I certainly wouldn’t accept his opinion on a man of faith. He probably has never taken two seconds to try and think about humble goodness and kindness.
One wonders how this priest managed to get through the immense amount of schooling they take, without learning as much sacramental theology as a humble suburban breeder and 3rd-grade religious-ed teacher. Sacramentally, a married man can be ordained a priest (as in the Orthodox and some Eastern Catholic Churches), but a priest cannot get married after ordination.
Therefore, this priest's "marriage" is simply fornication, ho-hum. Sinful, but hardly groundbreaking, avant-guard originality.
Well, if Lauer is so great why is there a rumor he’s going to host Jeopardy?
I am not Catholic.
I sincerely hope that this Pope holds the line against the uissues of gay marriage—women priests—and other ‘progressive’ ideas.
There has to be at least ONE religion that has the guts to hold to it’s own reasoning.
