I believe this is why they were so mad at Cruz’s questioning of Feinstein. What we’re watching is political theater for Democrat voters, particularly white urban elites.
Blacks want guns. They get the brunt of trouble from criminality and want to be able to protect themselves. The Dems know this, at least in Chicago they do. That change is driving this.
They have to hold on to their demographics to hold power. The bill is DOA, but they get to blame the evil Republcans and the notoriously powerful NRA (an organization that wouldn’t have any power, but for the fact that Americans want their guns).
