My grandfather said that failure to fire got a lot of new soldiers killed in Europe as well. He said that they just couldn’t comprehend that someone they didn’t even know, wanted to kill them.
Those first reluctant and dead soldiers provided a powerful motivator.

The article has an infinite number of infinitely repeated stupidities and lies, but what I can’t get over is the “hollow point” paranoia - LE rounds are routinely hollow points because you don’t want rounds passing through perps to the innocent.

I have to grant the imbecile that wrote this something; somehow connecting the Weather Underground to NOAA Fisheries enforcement officers buying a few rounds for their sidearms is a neat and original trick.
Another point that brings up is that a lot of the folks that might be co-opted into the Obamarmy would be youth who've played a hell of a lot of first person shooter games, and those games are fearsomely effective at training people to aquire and engage targets. That has proven itself out in that youth "rampage shooters" accumulate way higher body counts than people over about 30 or so. Something to think about...
I don't know, but the number required to truly get the job done, would be staggering. Frankly, it would take the combined might of all the military forces of the western world to do it.
The casualties, mutinies, and defections on the invaders' side would be horrendous, and in the end, all you'd have is a demolished country from coast to coast.
The American military has been tied down in Afghanistan for over a decade by a bunch of 7th century towelheads with AKs and IEDs. Can you even imagine the level of difficulty with prosecuting a shooting war against a culturally advanced, heavily armed, and educated patriot population?

Just last week a high school in Michigan was evacuated because of a man wearing camo walked into a school.
It turned out to be an airman from the nearby Selfridge Air base dropping in to say hi to his old guidance counselor. The guy was unarmed and no threat.

Not this nonsense again! Trust me, in any given firefight that I was in in Vietnam, it would be rare for 2/3 of the troops to be in a position to point their weapons at the enemy, or even to know where the enemy positions were. As well as being uncertain where our own troops were, so as to avoid shooting at our own men. Proper fire discipline: don’t shoot when you don’t have a target, and a clear field of fire.
