NEWTOWN The right to bear arms does not trump the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Nor does it trump the right for more birthdays for children, the organizer of Team 26 said Saturday morninga group of cyclists riding from Newtown to Washington to demand common sense gun control.
Chris McDonnell, and the other 25 members of Team 26, wore a cycling jersey Saturday that said they rode for Hope, Peace and Love.
McDonnell also rides for the love and light of his family, his daughter Grace.
Grace was among the 20 children and six adults killed by a single gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School last December.
Trip organizer Monte Frank, whose daughter attended Sandy Hook Elementary School, re-introduced the constitution during a rally Saturday morning, stressing that the second amendment does not trump all others.
Yesterday was Dylan Hockleys seventh birthday
he had the right to turn 7. He had the right to turn 8 and 9 and so did all of our other beautiful 20 children. The second amendment does not trump those rights, he said.

Yeah, riding bikes in spandex, that oughta fix it.
bingo. it’s as though people are going to suddenly think up a hitherto unknown solution to one of the thorniest problems modern society has to offer because 26 fuzzy headed shrub huggers put their fat a$$es on a bicycle seat.
I feel for the guy but WTF?
When I first read the headline, I thought they had been kicked off the train ride.
The comments are interesting.
These emotional “anti-Constitutional” people are not winning the argument.
men wearing those spandex should be illegal, YUCK
ARF.
Lets just hope these spandex ninnies stay beind eahc other instead of taking some of the road up and getting in the way of drivers.
26 people get news, hundreds of thousands march for life etc and nothing from the media.
More morons with too much free time on their hands and nothing to do. One of the advantages Barry gets from his unemployment program. Keep the idiots unemployed and they come up with goofy crap like this in order to stay busy.
If that many concerned Americans actually marched on Washington, the liberal socialist would call out the military to confront them!
The cowards would be hiding in their bunkers! That would truly be a sight to behold!
The comments at the original article give me hope that this country is not hopelessly lost.
There is such a thing as “road kill!” IMHO, I'm just saying.
I pity these fools whose hero and icon has been recently been relegated to the ash heap of history.
I am sick of these self-righteous pedalpheliacs.
“..The right to bear arms does not trump the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...”
Absolutely right!!
The right to bear arms guarantees life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

On the rare occasion that I will even discuss the 2nd with a lefty moron I like to throw the hypothetical at them, “OK you have your wish, guns are now illegal. Now how are you going to take mine from me since you don’t have one?”
Of course they say the government will make me. Are you sure about that? Are you sure they won’t take my side of the argument?
Riding bikes on major roads is dangerous to ones health. Just sayin.
And then the End comes. Hope they've taken the Lord into their hearts.
Pumpin your hiney in spandex on a 55 MPH road at rush hour and blocking traffic, to make a statement really doesn’t make a good statement.
i wouldn’t go camping with any of those spandex-clad sugar-boys.
Males have the choice to be men or to depend on the nanny state.
While I feel sorry for their loss, I really have to wonder what kind of world they live in CT.
I hope they ride safe, but that being said wouldn’t it be ironic if some thug robbed them on their journey and they had no defense. Actually I think a group of people who publicly state that they don’t believe in the right to defend themselves are asking to be victimized. I hope they get what they are asking for, and I don’t men gun control!
