On what grounds? Pain and suffering from being unjustly asked to change? No, the bad press and a refund, apology, and maybe a few bucks for her trouble is enough. I don’t see why this would amount to a significant lawsuit. Unless not flying caused her to miss talking to her kid on their deathbed, or made a big business deal fall through, or something.

Later on, the story calls her a “helicopter technician”. In Europe, engineer means more than the contemporary American definition.
On whatever grounds a shark can invent. I said this on another thread and I realize this is Europe, but it still applies. Liberals need their biggest tool, lawsuits, turned against them.
If this was (likely) a case of lib attendants acting on their own, then Virgin needs to pay dearly for hiring liberal idiots. That will give them incentive to NOT hire liberal idiots. When enough companies feel the pain and get the bad PR, it will become hard for them to justify their liberal decisions.
Because until now, thats EXACTLY what libs have done to us and it has worked spectacularly well.
You can sue for insult and there is not limit on what can be claimed.
It may or may not be actionable; however, the article says she was returning to her posting. She was threatened with being kicked off the flight if she didn’t remove her uniform.
Had ahe refused and been kicked off the flight, and missed reporting for duty a ordered, she’d have been AWOL and in very hot water which theoretically could have cost her some rank and pay. To sailor that’ akin to “a big business deal fall[ing] through, or something.”
However, the poor PR for Virgin will cost them plenty as members of the Royal military, their families, friends and supporters, decide to fly other airlines.
Maybe she should have asked Virgin to cover up their logo in case it offended anyone...
I have never flown on Virgin, and now it looks like I never will. In this age of terrorism, I prefer to fly on an airline that welcomes uniformed allied service personnel.
Don’t expect Virgin to change anything unless it hurts.

It was NOT company policy. I would not take a local idiots ridiculous made up rule to heart as company policy. It was not and there has or will be a correction toward the service member.

Combat fatigues are a work uniform. I don’t fly often , but when I do I don’t wear my work clothes.
When I was in the service it was Civvies or Dress uniform to leave the post, today is different, but even so a military person IMO shuld not wear fatigues to fly in.
Not that it offends me , but pride in their uniform should be enough for them to put it on for trips on planes.
