At a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on Thursday, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) opposed an amendment to her Assault Weapons Ban legislation that would allow military veterans to continue to buy the firearms that would be banned. Feinstein says a veteran may be mentally ill and should be prevented from purchasing firearms.

I love when politicians - who have never served in the military - never gone to war - never sacrificed - make such determinations. As a combat vet - I very much WANT vet’s armed. They can respond in a moments notice and despite PTSD are very and highly capable of handling situations of emergency...with war comes PTSD — Homer wrote about it and the Greeks never took the shield and swords away from returning soldiers because of it...the only ones that do are self-serving tyrants like Diannie Looney Toons...go to Russia and pick up your hammer/sickle and leave the US alone...stupid politicians....
I think that it is more that amazing that a person who totes a rifle for 2 to 4 years to protect this country and the idiots that are in control, now do not want them to buy firearms. As I view it, if I had not spent (and millions others like me) years rolling around puking my gets out hunting Russian SSBNs these clowns might have been speaking Russian. And they want to tell us we are not trustworthy to handle a rifle.

You know, part of me wants to see Diane and Co get their ‘laws’ passed. That way, when the blowback from the public and the LEOs that refuse to confiscate and die for the cause happens, they will all be struck down and the Dems will suffer the loss of power that will result...for a long time.
Until people feel the pain, they will just refuse to believe it ‘could’ happen.
I think it’s fine for vets to be armed. But there’s no reason they should be exempt from bans, other than pandering. This isn’t “Starship Troopers,” and they aren’t exta-special citizens. There simply shouldn’t be a ban, is all.

These politicians who begin to decide our fates after serving our nation are a disgrace. Feinstein is shameless...Rand Paul pointed out in part how our Constitution is being abused by these nits, these vicious, debased, and corrupt politicians during his timely filibuster. Senator Feinstein makes a mockery of our Constitution and those who stand with and for it.

The best way to find out if a veteran is mentally ill is to check their voter registration. If they are registered as a DemocRAT, they should not be allowed to buy guns. JMO.
Our military will be less likely to seek out modern behavioral health care when they fear it will get them labeled as “mentally ill”.
My response to my Congressional reps:
Dianne Feinstein’s legislative proposals to ban ‘assault’ weapons and 30 round magazines are not only a testimony to her ignorance of weapons, but present a clear case for the need for term limits for members of Congress.
I served in the U.S.Army Reserve-Infantry, with an Honorable Discharge as Captain. I learned small-unit tactics and movements and had extensive familiarization with small-arms weapons.
Let me tell you a few things about the ‘assault’ weapons that everyone is getting all lathered up about.
First, a REAL assault weapon is one in which you have the capability to have full-automatic (keeps firing as long as the trigger is depressed) and/or select fire of three-round bursts. This kind of weapon is used to achieve suppressive fire against an enemy and in a final ground assault against a fixed objective.
The weapons that Feinstein is trying to ban again (the previous ban by the way had no impact on crime levels—check the FBI stats) are SEMI-AUTOMATIC-one shot for every time you pull the trigger. This is the same action that is in every pistol (not revolver) in the world.
Anything that Congress attempts to pass that erodes our Second Amendment (which is a God-given, not government-given right)is going to be met with a response at the voting booth.
*sigh* Well, there go the dozen Mk 46 torpedoes I have buried in my back yard in case of an emergency...
Nobody is crazier than Diane Feinstein. She appears perfectly willing to sacrifice the Constitution to her crazed policies.
A Constitution she gave an oath to preserve, which should tell you how honest she is.
