He might have repented; we don’t know.
Once they’ve pumped his ugly hide full of preservatives and shoved it into the glass viewing casket they’re going set up for him, I hope the Venezuelans will focus on the future and take back their country. And I’m sure the Church will support this.
Chavez had serious conflicts with the Church over the years and only a few of the bishops had the guts to oppose him and stake out their territory. Probably the only reason Chavez wasn’t even worse is thanks to the Church, so while this wasn’t a perfect solution, it probably did make things easier for Christians in VZ.
What Truth could he have repented to? He didn't know The Truth. BTW, did he die poor? Just wondering how deep 'his faith' was.
Everything in Caracas years ago was all about BOLIVAR.....BOLIVAR this....BOLIVAR that.....I wonder if Chavez has replaced “all things Bolivar”?
Hugo may smell a bit like smoke:
1 Corinthians 3:10-15
10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it.
But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each persons work.
14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.
15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be savedeven though only as one escaping through the flames.Jude 17:23
17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in Gods love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fearhating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

You're right. He might have repented. Yet should Christians celebrate as though he had?
