One of the hopeful outcomes of the Senate confirmation hearings for John Brennan to be director of the Central Intelligence Agency and Chuck Hagel to be the secretary of Defense was to gain some concrete answers to the Benghazi tragedy. So far, though, no additional useful information has been released. Further, the testimony of former Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey on Feb. 7 before the Senate Armed Services Committee only raised more questions. The cloud of a cover-up continues. In that sense, much of the focus by the various congressional committees has been on “who made the changes to the talking points” used by our UN Ambassador Susan Rice on her marathon Sunday interviews in September. Though important, this question diverts attention away from the key issues. For example, what activity was actually being conducted at our Benghazi Special Mission Compound (SMC)? Was it involved in transferring arms to Syrian rebels and al Qaeda-affiliated militias fighting Russia’s key ally in the Middle East, Bashar al-Assad? The out-of-control security situation in Eastern Libya including Benghazi was well known.

I think we need a filibuster demanding copies of the FBI interviews of the survivors be given to the appropriate committees in the house and senate. These reports must be toxic. Can you imagine the outrage if Bush had kept these documents from the house. These documents have the smoking gun. Soon they will be lost or misplaced or under seal.

What have we been doing in Libya? The Democrats wet themselves every day for years over the Contras. Yet, we use American military personnel and equipment in Libya, and they don’t say a word? Why? What was our pressing national security interest there? Why can’t they tell us? How are we, the American people, supposed to vote in an informed manner if one party won’t keep us informed? Maybe that’s by design.

It's hard to identify the members in Congress who would take the lead in this.
I still feel Obama and Hillary came up with different stories for different groups.
The American people were fed the lie about the movie.
Romney was fed a lie that was so amazing he didn't use Benghazi in the debates - where it belonged. It must have been a whopper - about 'national security' is my guess...
Generals were fed stories - maybe 'scare stories' to keep them quiet. Pensions - 'classified' bullsh*t stuff... And the press was made to 'feel part of the team'. Of course the stories were lies... What makes this interesting is each group thinks they're the 'insiders' with a truth worth protecting.
