The U.S. government on Thursday notified 60,000 federal workers responsible for securing borders and facilitating trade that they will face furloughs due to government-wide spending cuts.
Customs and Border Protection said it expects furloughs and other austerity will cause delays at ports of entry, including international arrivals at airports, and reduce the number of border patrol officers on duty at any one time.

Clinton shut down the government and gave nonessential employees an extra week vacation with pay. He then cut budgets across the board by 10% and it was hardly noticeable.
I have had a 40% cut in hours and a 29% cut in hourly pay in the past two years. No benefits.
But I am suppose to pay more and more to support them.
And I should "feel their pain"?

Can there be an ‘on-the-spot’ audit requiring them to show how funds have disappeared? We read that the Federal budget will actually increase but at a slower rate. Anyone furloughed would have a case unless you cannot sue the gubmint.
Sorry, CNN, but four days ago she said "We are already seeing the effects" including lines "150% to 200% as long as we would normally expect." But good job running interference for her.
So, the question remains, why are the lines longer if the furloughs haven't started yet?
