Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blasted fellow GOP Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Thursday, saying the two think the whole world is a battlefield.
Paul criticized the hawkish senators for thinking the laws of war should take precedence over the Bill of Rights. The two had criticized Pauls statements about drone policy during the Kentucky Republicans 13-hour filibuster on Thursday.
They think the whole world is a battlefield including America and that the laws of war should apply, Paul said in an interview on Fox News about McCain and Graham, who had described Pauls comments about drones as ridiculous.
The laws of war don't involve due process so when they ask you for an attorney you tell them to shut up. That's not my understanding of the way America works, Paul told Fox. I don't think the laws of war apply to America, I think the Bill of Rights do and I think it's a disservice to our soldiers that our senators up there arguing that the Bill of Rights aren't important.
Paul said whether drones can be used against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil is a very serious question and was at the root of Wednesdays filibuster, which delayed a final confirmation vote on John Brennan, President Obamas nominee to lead the CIA.
This was a very serious question. It was a question that took a month and a half to get an answer to and I so I would argue and I think a lot of the public would agree with me, both on the right and the left, that what we ask was a very serious question and it's a question that we finally got an answer to, Paul said.
Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday responded to Paul in a letter that said the U.S. does not have the authority to conduct a drone attack against a U.S. citizen on American soil.
Hooray, for 13 hours yesterday we asked them that question. And so there is a result and a victory, Paul said after the letter was read to him during the Fox interview. Under duress and under public humiliation the White House will respond and do the right thing.
The answer just took a filibuster that lasted almost half a day, Paul added.
So now, after 13 hours of filibuster, we're proud to announce that the president is not going to kill unarmed Americans on American soil, Paul continued. My next question is why did it take so long, why is it so hard and why would a president so jealously guard power that they were afraid to say this but I am glad and I think that the answer does answer my question.
McCain and Graham have to go, they’re both kissing Obama’s behind.
When the whole world is a battlefield, it’s a declaration that the best way around red tape, regulation, and constitutional rights are taking a bite out of the governing class wallets. A way around oversight, just like Benghazi. Benghazi btw was really just a Fast-n-Furious variant on a different time zone with deadlier customers.
Graham has to run for re-election next year!
Hopefully this little episode will prompt a good T.E.A. Party Conservative to throw their hat into the ring and challenge him in his primary.

Yes, it will be good for a strong, common-sense conservative to run against Lindsey in the 2014 primary.
Actually, it would be good if MULTIPLE folks primaried him in 2014. That would help to exaust or at least decrease substantially his campaign funds and help keep him below the 50% margin he needs to avoid a run-off. Then his strongest primary competitor would kick his ass in the run off. This would be following the same strategy used that led to Ted Cruz’ defeat of the GOP establishment’s (and favored to win) candidate (Dewhurst) in 2012.
Come on South Carolinians, show some guts and some vision.
This does not mean that Obama will never use a drone against an American on American soil.
It just means that at this point in time he says he won’t.
But we all know what a liar he is.
OK. Great, according to you its Obama’s constitutional duty to fly an armed drone to your house to kill you and your family, when and if one of his cabinet members deem your death to be necessary in order to kill the terrorist who lives next door.
War is the health of The State.
How’s D.C. doing now days?
What irks me most of all is McCain and Graham upbraided Paul just after breaking bread with the POS in the White House. The two sound to me like they’d been pulled aside and told to rein Paul in.
I’ve said before, I have nothing but admiration for the courage shown by McCain during his years at the Hanoi Hilton, but it’s long past time for him to step aside.
“I’m a southern California conservative. Now a transplant to Colorado. I am taken with winter and the majesty of the state’s mountains.” Looks like YOU brought YOUR STUPID CALIFORNIA “Ideas” w/ you.
You can bet, if drones had been around in 1862, Lincoln would have used them.
Read what I wrote more carefully (”No one in the Bonus Army was shot or killed in the eviction”).
Police shot and killed two Bonus Marcher’s in a building prior to the eviction by the Army under MacArthur. That altercation lead to the decision to clear them out which happened later.
The Wkipedia link you provide describes this.
As I wrote, tear gas was used in the eviction and a baby did die to to exposure to the gas.
But the army did not fire upon or kill Bonus Marchers.
Many years ago in arguing with Chinese communist supporters I read a lot on this, including a book written by one of the March organizers, written in the 30’s to find out what actually happened.
Communists spread disinformation that the US Army fired and slaughtered these veterans and I wanted to find out what truth there was in their attempts to create moral equivalence between the US and communists regimes and what happened in events such as the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
I absolutely have no use for either McNuts or Grahamnesty! They’re more progressive than the liberal democrat progressives! They can’t be gone soon enough!!!!
Suspects and Subjects who pay them tribute. A Government which does not trust the people is not to be trusted.
Well said...He’s doing nothing now for our country or the state of Arizona and he’s fighting against conservative Republicans.
Thumbs up!
McCain is EVERY BIT the enemy of America, as much as Obama is.
In 2008, we were given a choice.
One one hand, we could vote for bitter, nearly-insane lyng marxist idealogue, and a murdering friend of the Police State and tyrannical oppression.
Or, we could vote for Obama.
If your post was a confession and I was the priest I’d say you need to do 5 Hail Marys, watch the ENTIRE Rand Paul filibuster then watch those two idiots McCain and Graham respond yesterday. If after that you understand how off base you are then you are lost.
Graham and McCain arranged the AMNESTY Diner with Obama.
Rand paul took the Oxygen from their dog and pony photo opportunity.
McCain and Graham are just two douche bag attention whores.
