Sen. Rand Pauls filibuster didnt thrill all of his colleagues.
Almost exactly 24 hours after the Kentucky freshman began his information-seeking filibuster against CIA nominee John O. Brennan, fellow Republican Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham took to the Senate floor to denounce his demands and say he was doing a disservice to the debate on drones.
I dont think what happened yesterday was helpful to the American people, said Mr. McCain, Republicans presidential nominee in 2008 who topped Mr. Pauls father, former Rep. Ron Paul, in that years primary.
And where even Democrats praised Mr. Paul for using Senate rules properly to launch a filibuster, Mr. McCain said it was an abuse of rules that could hurt the GOP in the long run.
What we saw yesterday is going to give ammunition to those who say the rules of the Senate are being abused, the Arizona Republican said.
Mr. Paul said he was filibustering to get the administration to affirm it wont kill non-combatant Americans in the U.S. but Mr. Graham and Mr. McCain said that was a ludicrous question.
I do not believe that question deserves an answer, Mr. Graham said.

This has been brewing for awhile, I’m glad to see sides being drawn.
Any elected official who doesn’t revolt at the thought of assassinating a US citizen without due process should be sent to Gitmo for “date night.”
How pathetic. How utterly freakin’ pathetic.
Afterwards, did they go up and give Obamugabe a full mouth kiss?
Wouldn’t surprise me....
Here is what is happening, folks: Lindsay and John are terrified of losing whatever influence they have or think they have. They have tried to be “tough guys” on Benghazi, but God Forbid any other senator attempt to have a say in the foreign policy of this nation.
So they see Rand’s ideas and actions getting traction...and decide to attack.
John Cornyn, Marco Rubio, and Deb Fischer: time to take a stand against the power-bigots of the GOP. Let these old horses know they’re not the only voices in the party.
The GOP is doing everything they can to alienate their conservative base. How do they ever expect to win another national election when conservatives simply stop voting for RINOs and all other politicians who do not support the Constitution and traditional American values?
That's a valid question, especially given the ammo and military type vehicle buildup over at Homeland Security.
FOAD, losers.
I have no use for those two, not even as compost.
Could these guys be any more wrong or stupid?
They don’t understand us at all.
Of course they are ticked off... They can’t play their games anymore when someone is willing to actually defend the Constitution and represent their Constituents as they should. McCain and Graham failing to do their jobs is part of what got us to this point in the first place. They like the status quo because they are at the top. They’re angry that someone actually had the backbone to speak to what the Citizens are feeling, and call them on all the bs they shovel. And, no doubt, they are very sore that Sen. Paul exposed them for the duplicitous scum they really are...
Senator McCain should be careful not to raise his blood pressure too much -- he is getting too old, and might have adverse medical consequences from getting his blood pressure too high.
Good. They made total fools out of themselves and the youth vote, and women, and everyone with a pulse see a the difference between angry old men, protecting their little turf- and young vitality, who are speaking truth to power.
Good.
Old men, go home.
At least now the battle lines have been clearly drawn within the GOP, time to choose a side.
If Grahamnesty gets primaried, his challenger's television commercial just wrote itself.
Perhaps superimposed over a picture of the uber-RINO supping with Der Leader. We know whose side McStain and Grahamnesty are on.
And it ain't ours.
Sometimes McC and Grm get it right but boy I’m really pissed at these childish reactions.
Sure, we should just “assume” the wonderful government will never do anything bad - NOT.
And why can’t they respect their own member’s sincere inquiry? I’m really offended by the dopiness of their behavior they are fools.
