Hudson County, New Jersey --(Ammoland.com) At approximately 10pm on Thursday night, January 24, 2013, 33-year-old Keith Pantaleon of Jersey City, New Jersey, was in the bedroom of his apartment watching television after a full days work when he heard thumping noises coming from his living room.
Believing that his residence may be being broken into, he grabbed his soft-bound Day Planner case (which also held a lawfully purchased handgun), and cracked open his bedroom door to investigate.
In the center of his living room, he saw a man dressed entirely in dark clothing who had his back towards him. He cracked open his door slightly further and saw near the entrance to his apartment a police officer, his landlord, and an EMT worker.
When the man dressed in dark clothing in the middle of his living room turned around, he saw it was another police officer.
One of the officers immediately ordered Pantaleon to come out of his bedroom. Pantaleon tossed his unopened Day Planner case onto his bed. As he went to close his bedroom door behind him, one of the officers pushed him into his living room. The officer then ordered Pantaleon to face a corner of his living room and handcuffed him. One of the officers allegedly threatened Pantaleon that if he had pulled out a firearm, he would have shot him. Officers asked if Pantaleon owned any firearms. To which, he did not reply.
As one of the officers watched Pantaleon (who remained in custody in Pantaleons living room), the other officer warrantlessly searched Pantaleons bedroom which including opening cabinets and his Day Planner case then demanded that Pantaleon provide the PIN# combination to his safe, which the officer proceeded to open and search.

Despite the above, his bail was set at $75,000.00 cash or bond, which the 33-year-old did not have. A friend of Pantaleons, however, brought awareness of his matter on the Internet, which raised funds to hire the law firm of Evan F. Nappen, Attorney at Law PC to represent.
Ve have vays to make you talk.
This case is absolutely ripe for Jury Nullification!
Cheers!
Why were the police even there to begin with?
Why didn't you post the whole article?
I’d rather hear the rest of the story first. Seems completely unjust from that account ... but that was written by his lawyer, so I wouldn’t take it for gospel.
SnakeDoc
So the police barge into his apartment to fix the heater? Unbelieveable.
Black people are not allowed to own guns in Chris Christie’s New Jersey.
That should be someone’s campaign slogan when they run against that big, fat, RINO.
Sue, sue, sue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel so terrible that while this is going on, I’m merely preparing myself and my family with food and supplies to last as long as possible. That my one goal is no longer to acquire wealth, but to disappear from the limelight. My family and friends need me, and they need me to be out of jail.
I feel terrible that all I can do is donate a few dollars to this legal fund - When I should be in the streets with a pitchfork, demanding the resignation of the whole system. I should be shoulder-to-shoulder with patriots demanding the resignation of all who have usurped our fine country.
But I’m too busy ensuring my freedom for the safety and security of my own family. And this is becoming too much to bear.
Because this man, based only on the statements in this article, has a story so utterly important that he should have a crowd of people ready to fight for him. As far as what may lie beneath the story - Not many people know. But if this article is wholly accurate, then I should be in the streets ready to fight for his cause.
Firewall or a proxy? If it’s just a proxy you can often just turn it off in your browser.
The police, the prosecutors, the system, will be able to go after this man as hard as they can, spend all the tax dollars they can, do whatever they want, and in the end, if they get him then they get him, if they don’t get him, then they still continue on with no repercussions, no firings, no loss of pensions or any change or cost, they just keep showing up for work and going home when their shift is over.
He has already paid dearly, is paying dearly now, and will be paying dearly for some time to come, perhaps for many years, and the best that he can hope for, is that he isn’t completely convicted and sentenced above and beyond this portion of the ordeal that he is currently immersed in.
"On the night in question, Pantaleons upstairs neighbor allegedly complained to police about the landlord providing insufficient heat. The boiler for the apartment building is adjacent to the kitchen area of Pantaleons residence. Police apparently insisted that the landlord open Pantaleons residence on their behalf despite the extremely late hour and lack of consent by Pantaleon."
The article doesn't identify any legitimate (IMO) reason for thyis unreasonable act(ion)
Pantalean has an enemy, imo.
Which one of his liberal “friends” ratted him out as a dangerous gun owner? The police had no reason to visit him, let alone search his quarters unless that was the case.
Wish him a successful lawsuit!
And stop living in New Jersey.
Make sure you leave an opus when you leave that oppressive state, as well.
This article is long and is best read on site.
Can you not override the Firewall? a one time exception or whatever.
Yeah the government of New Jersey and ultimately the federal government ... as do we all
That's what all blog-pimps say.
If the law is as the article describes, doesn’t Pantelon have a federal civil rights claim against the cops. And Chris Christie? Who’s as anti-gun as any governor in the nation.
