don't know much more......
March 4, 2013 (CAHOKIA, Ill.) (WLS) -- A small plane with gear problems is circling above Cahokia airport in downstate Illinois.
Eight people are on board the Learjet, according to published reports. Officials at Parks Airport in Cahokia, Ill., say they are prepared for an emergency landing.
Ambulances have been called to the scene.
Just before noon, the pilot reported a problem with the landing gear. A fly by led officials to determine something was wrong.

Helicopter pilot doesn’t have a visual of the plane. Thinks it may be circling to burn off fuel. Emergency response is on the ready nearby the runway.
Prayers up!!!!

I turned on the live feed and it started with an ad for American Airlines LOL

Why the Air Force plane involved?...seems kinda strange that it would be doing a fly by to check out a privately owned plane’s landing gear?...

issue over dumping fuel so captain is burning fuel off to his comfort level for landing? at least they won’t bend their propellers. Good luck and foam it up.

It'll be ok if the pilot doesn't freak out. A Lear is a pretty stout little plane. Hold that wing up until there aint no more lift left. Usually a mouse builds a nest in the gear well and linkage. The pilot does not see it during a preflight inspection. Once the gear goes up it bends the linkage and breaks the crossbolt connecting the drop linkage arms, preventing it from then lowering due to bent / broken stuff.
This happens on private or charter jets only because they tend to spend a lot more time inside hangars during periods of unuse.

WOW, LIVE?
First, David Copperfield made his plane appear last night in Peoria due to some funny noise, and now this one not far away...

They’ve cycled the gear a few times and done flybys. The gear comes down... Hard to say if it is locking or not. Should be attempting a landing soon.

To the best of my knowledge Lears cannot dump fuel. And BTW foaming a runway is an OK plan if there are enough standby fire trucks with additional foam to put out any fire that might start. Otherwise it is not recommended as they would leave the crew and pax w/o fire retardant protection. Just saying.
