"Student gets 3 day suspension after wrestling away gun"
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A 16-year-old Cypress Lake High School student, who wrestled a loaded revolver away from a teen threatening to shoot, is being punished.
The student grappled the gun away from the 15-year-old suspect on the bus ride home Tuesday after witnesses say he aimed the weapon point blank at another student and threatened to shoot him.
The student, who Fox 4 has agreed not to identify and distort his voice because he fears for his safety, says there's "no doubt" he saved a life by disarming the gunman. And for that he was suspended for three days.
"I think he was really going to shoot him right then and there," the student ...........

Actually he is not on administrative leave pending investigation. His situation is more like “unpaid suspension with a black mark on his record”. With the way government is this will most likely follow him for a long time.
This is government nothing gets erased.
"I am sorry that you feel this way about me/my leadership abilities, especially having never met me. It is unfortunate, to say the least, that the media has incorrectly reported the facts surrounding this situation and have cast an unfair negative shadow on me (and my school.)
The miscommunication is further compounded since this situation deals with students' discipline and I am unable to set the record straight and clarify what actually happened. I can, however, emphatically tell you that there are other circumstances involved in this situation and that NO students were suspended/punished for helping disarm another student of a firearm.
My life's work is revolved around being an advocate for student success and I am passionate about it. Hopefully, you can see/understand that when it comes to media stories, there is usually more than meets the eye."

Please remember that according to the media Trayvon Martin was an innocent waif and George Zimmerman was a racist.
Terrorized twice. Once by the gun wielding classmate, and once by the bureaucracy. He should wear the bureaucracy’s punishment as a badge of honor, and as a witness to their mindless liberalism.
What do you see between the lines?
Perhaps, the student who disarmed the gunman expressed some views critical of the “urban culture”, and is therefore a “racist” that has to be punished for taking action against a “minority”?
While this was posted some days ago, I still agree with the school for suspending those students immediately.
Why? For their protection, and the protection of the school.
As an example, let’s say the gunman belonged to a street gang, or had armed friends who got half the story. As well as other kids who are now terrified enough to bring their own guns to school.
So a 72 hour cooling off period sounds like a smashing good idea, as long as it is understood it is without prejudice, that the suspended students will not have it held against them by teachers, etc. It is for their own protection.
It would also be a great idea to have some armed guards at the school, pronto.
If you think about it, the next few days at that school is going to be a wash, anyway, because of gossip & rumor, increased stress, arguments about guns in schools, counseling etc.
Why suspend the kid??....If I were the kid’s parents, I’d just keep him home....period.

More information:
“The student, who Fox 4 has agreed not to identify and distort his voice because he fears for his safety...”
“According to the mother, the school suspended her son because he refused to cooperate in the investigation. She says he was scared.”
So, if he fears for his safety, for some unexplained reason, is the school permitted to fear for its safety as well?
Well wesagain, since you appear to be full cognizant of all the facts, fill us in. give us a step by step description of exactly of what happened and what caused the entire incident.
