Clint Eastwood Pledges Support for Gay Marriage
Hollywood Gossip ^ | 03/03/2013 | by Hilton Hater

He's one of the few big-time celebrities who is also a big-time Republican.

But Clint Eastwood has veered from the viewpoint of many Conservatives in one regard: the actor signed the American Foundation for Equal Rights’s “Friend of the Court” brief this week.

In doing so, the actor became one of over 100 prominent Republicans to support this gay rights organization's document, which it has filed with the Supreme Court.

n April, the highest court in the land will listen to arguments about the legality of California’s Proposition 8, an amendment that passed in 2008 and which declares “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized" in that state.

Those such as Eastwood have affixed their name to this brief in the hope that this gay marriage ban will be overturned.

And recent poll revealed that 61 percent of CA residents would support marriage equality.

Yes the left and libertarians agree on this agenda, and they promote it and fight for it.

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

I haven’t had a sinless season in my lifetime, so I just can’t throw any balls in this game.. :)

NO, but do you promote sin nationally, advertise it, fight for it on the national stage, devote yourself politically to creating it and institutionalizing it, and replacing marriage with it?

He is a man with an opinion who gets paid for lying to the public, better than most other folks can.. He can't influence anyone that is opposed to his stance, but if they are already of that mindset, it could be a factor..

He doesn't have anymore stroke than you or I have.. You or I could have as much influence as he has with a well written defense of marriage piece in a local paper..

My guess is that both Kennedy and Roberts will be star struck by Eastwood being part of a Friend of the Court filing and that both will vote to overturn Prop 8.

And there are a lot of famous people jumping on the Gay Marriage Bandwagon and that can only be bad.

Business doesn’t spend billions on celebrity endorsements for no reason, a mere mention of something by a celebrity can make an owner rich, endorsements, public statements of support matter, they can collapse opposition.

I understand branding, endorsements, and an opinion, I'm in the entertainment business, but what you are discribing is a commercial endorsement, not a signed petition.. Apples and Pears..

Huh?

So there are no set values? No set rules? Whatever feels right to you?

{{{Eastwood is part of the left-wing of the Republican Party}}}

That’s for sure.

CPAC would love to hear Eastwood talk about the seven children he has fathered by five women. Or is it five children by seven women? Wait — whatever. :-)

Maybe he does have set rules. After fathering seven children by five women, he stops. That’s it!

Clint’s rule is after two marriages, and fathering seven kids with five women, you stop. A man has to have principles, after all.

You can add that one to your libertarian list, under “family values.”

Back in the 1980s there was a DC talk radio comic who had his own show and he regularly parodied “Clinton” (Clint-on Eastwood) as being gay.

I believe that old Clint’s mind has finally failed. We all saw him mentally falter in his famous speech during the primaries.

It’s a sad thing to see someone so great as he fall before the ax of political correctness.

We have to look at Clint’s life.

As an actor he has been around more Homosexuals than most of the rest of us combined. Hollywood has been a haven for Homo’s for years. Since way back in the silent movie days.

Homosexuals are not bad people they are just sick. You work around them every day and a lot of them become your friends. It is natural that you begin to accept them as friends and look the other way at their sickness.I have homosexual friends, we don’t get into bitter discussion about their illness. We look the other way.

If a person wants to play with anothers waste that is none of my business, when they seek to further their agenda, destroy the act of marriage and get in my face I get angry.

Seeing their romantic interludes and lust on the street on TV and seeing their recruitment Offends me.

One wonders what is it about actors that affects their brains? It is a relatively sophisticated occupation: it requires reading a script, understanding what the director is saying and showing up for work. Yet you put together an actor and, say, a greyhound bus driver, — another occupation similarly demanding, — and you know ahead of time who of the two will have the gift of reason and who will not.

It must be the habit of pretending you are someone who you are not, a skill also needed for crookery, that is so damaging.

Despite his tough guy movie persona Clint has always been a mushy left winger. He is a Menshevik in Boleshivik Hollywood. That’s why he was so warmly received to speak at the Republican Convention.
