Mitt Romney says it "kills" him that he's not president. But he doesn't blame Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or anything else on his loss to President Barack Obama--except his campaign's failure to connect with minority voters.
I lost my election because of my campaign," Romney said on "Fox News Sunday" in his first television interview since his November defeat, "not because of what anyone else did."
The former Massachusetts governor refused place blame on Christie, who some Republicans say elevated Obama in his embrace of the president in the wake of the storm.
Romney said his inability to win over black and Hispanic voters--and the damage done by those disastrous "47 percent" comments--ultimately derailed his White House bid.
Ann Romney, though, pointed the finger at the fourth estate. It was not just the campaigns fault," Ann Romney said. "I believe it was the media's fault as well, in that he was not being given a fair shake--that people werent allowed to really see him for who he was. ... Im happy to blame the media.
She added: I totally believe at this moment, if Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now."

Sorry, dude obama is on you and your "we must pick a guy who can win even if he is a liberal".
HE LOST!!!!
That belongs to you.
NO! obama is on you.
You picked the liberal candidate, you sported him and he LOST!
obama belongs to you
NO! obama is on you.
You picked the liberal candidate, you supported him and he LOST!
obama belongs to you
I am amused by the defense of Romney the liberal by people who at the same time claim to be conservative.....seems to me their shell is broken and they have been laid bare.
They are like children that blame the cat when mom catches them with their hand in the jar and a mouth full of cookies.
I think it’s entertaining to read the verbal gymnastics they go through to avoid simple questions. Like the several I posted on this thread alone. They can’t admit that their support gave the greenlight to the GOP to move left. They can’t admit the simple logic that you can’t get Right by moving left.
The thing is that the lurkers who read these threads see the abject stupidity on display and think. And becayse they don’t have to worry about being targets of the Romney brigade, they can think clearly. And they do.
One of the brain surgeons on this thread is on an illegal immigration right now bitching about the ACU caving on illegals. It doesn’t occur to him that Romney was all for a ‘moderate approach to LEGALIZING THEM too.
Right over his freaking head.
But the people who read this thread see him ranting over there. And he looks like a total disconnected fool.
So I hope they keep it up. We need to have these civil wars so we can get the BS over with and emerge with less idiocy, and less idiots. But the ‘diversity’ we now suffer under in conservatism will be gone and we will then be able to act in a unified way without fighting our own ‘party’ as much as we fight the liberals.
Had Romney won we would not be sitting waiting for homeland security to release thousands of criminal illegal aliens upon us as a blackmail for more taxes.
“HE LOST!!!!
That belongs to you.”
In what alternative universe does this belong to me? Did I have the slightest anything to do with the selection of Romney as a candidate? His defeat thrills you, doesn’t it? Otherwise, why the caps? Why the exclamation points? Do you think I need your clarion call to know whom was elected? Two separate posts, repeating the same thing? You have something important to say, I guess.
You cannot take the slightest responsibility for your actions. You took personal, purposeful actions that most predictably led to 0bama’s re-election. But in that third-grade larval brain of yours, you don’t seem to understand the full implications of that choice. MR never was my candidate until it was clear there was only the alternative of not voting (which I presume was your choice) or voting for 0bama, or voting for some third party candidate who did not have the slightest chance of success.
So instead of calling me out for my Romney vote like a petulant third grader, why don’t you take some little responsibility for the unintended consequences of your action. You’ve already shown you’re delighted that 0bama won. Maybe there’s something else you can repeat a few times that will get your message through.
Are you sure?
(a) Do you realize that THE reason why Roe vs. Wade is considered "abortion on demand" is because it includes a "health" of the mother exception -- which is defined as "anything"...even "family health"? "Economic health"?
(b) Do you realize that Romney told CBS News last August:Romney: My views on abortion rights are clear
"My position has been clear throughout this campaign," Romney said. "I'm in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother."
So, apparently you're "a-ok" voting for POTUS candidates who favor killing off most of the eligible pre-born...just not all of em, eh?
I voted for the candidate who is a member of a church (even if you dont think so) that opposes abortion...
What a ridiculous statement! The Mormon church (right now) opposes same-sex "marriage" .... Yet GoP prez candidate Jon Huntsman has now come out in support of that! (See Jon Huntsman, a conservative & a Mormon, says legalizing same-sex marriage is...right thing to do)
Why would you automatically somehow equate a candidate's position on abortion as somehow equivalent to their church's position, especially given the propensity of MANY Catholic office-holders to be solidly pro-abortion...
You sound like an utter political noob!
Ya know, those of us who supported third-party candidates are all told "all the time" that if you vote for a losing candidate, you've done "wasted your vote."
Well, not only did Romney voters waste their vote, they seared their conscience by voting for the first outright liberal GoP Potus candidate -- somebody to the left of Jack Kennedy!
How did it feel voting for an open pro-abort?
How did it feel voting for a socialist healthcare pioneer?
How did it feel reinforcing the RINOs in power?
All for what? Where did your political relativism get you? Did your utilitarian ethic usher Obama out the door?
Any FREEPER who voted for Romney in a non-purple state -- where the state electoral voters were already in the bag for either Romney or Obama -- should be ashamed of themselves.
Your vote in non-purple states didn't shoo Obama out of winning that blue state; and it was a 100% worthless vote in a red state that wasn't about to let Obama win that state, anyway.
You re just to rich.
You take no responsibility for Romney’s candidacy but you want me to take responsibility for his lost.
BWwwaaaahahahahaha!
Oh yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAH!
I have to post twice, to give you a chance to accept your responsibility.
Which I might add apparently, is not possible for you.
What candidate did you vote for then? If you are speaking of Romney, you would be wrong. If not then who?
It sounds as though they are still hurt, angry and afraid.
They lash out and we are the closest folks who have paid any attention to them; so we catch the brunt of their verbal berating.
Don't take it personal; even though it sounds that way.
We are not the ones who have peed down their back and said it was raining.
Our borders are open. They can come here for their treatments.
We'll gladly accept their money.
For me; there is no responsibilty to take. By the time the primary was run in Indiana, Mitt's forces had run everyone else off by outspending them.
When the National rolled around, there was no way in HELL that I was going to vote for a known heretic, who hasn't the sense to determine the errors of MORMONism.
Yet you reply...
Wait a couple of years.
Obama came out of nowhere to win.
You must be an old coot like me!
I detected as much...
We WILL get through this.
We have three years to quit fighting amoung ourselves and EDUCATE folks in what this country REALLY needs.
