California
Parents in California also worried about the potential impact on their young children as Head Start programs were trimmed, NBC Los Angeles reported. We cant pay for it, Ismael Lopez said of other preschool options for his son. Everything is so expensive. Cuts to funding for schools, the military and disability services could total $500 million, and primary and secondary education may see a $87.6 million cut, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Connecticut
The budget cuts include slashing funds for the Federal Aviation Administration by about $600 million nationwide, NBC Connecticut reported. How much any resulting delays may cost airline passengers in travel time at the states airports wont be known until the cuts settle in, said aviation consultant Ed Garlick. "We won't really know until we get into it. It could be minutes. It could be hours," he told NBC Connecticut.
Florida
Florida residents spoke out about their fears that the spending cuts may cast a cloud over the Sunshine State. I think people are going to be affected locally, and I think people need to be angrier than they are at the fact that Congress is not working together to serve us as people, attorney Lynn Dannheisser told NBC Miami. Community hospitals and institutions of higher learning, including the University of Miami and Florida International University, may stand to see some of their funding dry up as a result of the cuts.

It’s not a cut. It’s less of an increase than they wanted.
Everyone still gets more. Just not as much more as they wanted.
just damn
this need to happen every month.
The enemedia has their talking points for the week. Here we go. Congress = Republicans. Too bad they didn’t add a provision to cut a billion more each week until a budget is passed.
I hope the entire system shuts down at this point. We are broke and now is as good a time as any to try to right this ship.
Not to worry. “Helicopter Ben” Bernanke can bail out the government by adding zeros to the computers at the Federal Reserve.
Wimmin’ and chil’ren hurt worst. Film at 11.
I can't help but imagine that would save a lot of $$.
Why should a person who is not here legally, be getting benefits while the rest of us take the hit.
Head Start is too expensive, Ismael. We can't pay for it. Besides, Head Start doesn't do any good.
Because Obama has campaign pledges to make good on. We’ll just have to make do with fewer cops and firemen so the parasites can get paid off.
> Besides, Head Start doesn’t do any good.
Depends on your perspective. If you’re a collectivist-statist, it does a lot of good giving a head start indoctrinating the kids.
How did the human race survive without “Head Start?” (Besides, can anyone show any long term benefit of being in this program?)
I don’t take home a lot of income, but...
I lost a $20.00 bill yesterday, so what did I do? Cancel the cable TV? Cancel the cell phone service? Cancel internet service? Put the car on blocks and walk five miles to work because I can’t afford gas? Cancel electrical service?
Of course not. I just didn’t go out to dinner. Once.
So stop messing with the public and get rid of some usless crap.
They could start with cutting the advertising budget they use to entice new welfare recipients.
And so it begins. At least it’s not Thanksgiving so we won’t hear endless reports about people not getting their turkey. But we could hear about the Yellowstone sleigh ride concessionaire that will be shut down. Boo hoo.
Actually, I think people are just tuning out the doom and gloom stuff. Rush is right when he says that you can only keep people ginned up emotionally for so long, then they just withdraw.
We had the election ginning up, the fiscal cliff ginning up, now the sequestalypse ginning up. When these things pass, and the sky doesn’t fall, folks become more immune to the next attempt to manipulate emotions.
They just say “a pox on all their houses”, and decide to go about their own business and wall themselves off as well as they can from the fear mongering.
That’s what a perpetual campaign, a la Obama, does to people. There’s only so much time and emotion people can invest in it and still keep their personal lives under control.
There’s only so much the paid rabble rousers can do. If the grassroots are fed up and tired of the whole thing, you’re not going to get very far.
The media thinks this is a delicious rerun of 1995 when the GOP got clobbered, so they’re foaming at the mouth to once again decimate the GOP. They’ll overplay their hands, just as Obama is doing. The backlash is coming and it won’t be just against the GOP. It’s going to take Obama down with it.
People have suffered enough financially in the past 4-5 years, they’re not going to have a lot of sympathy for the public sector workers who have to go on furlough or cough up a little more money for their Cadillac health care plan.
It’s true. This morning I had to chase some zombies away from my bird feeder. The task was made more difficult by the fact that all I’m allowed to have is a single-shot blunderbuss.
Cut about 60 percent of all this worthless gubmint and make them all get real productive employment then maybe ya gots something.
This hysteria from the ‘give me my entitlements’ crowd is a great comment on the insidious creep of the federal government into the lives of the American people over the past 100 years or so.
Want to get things under control? Shut down the federal government...
Head start is much more convenient and easier than parenting your offspring. Raising your own children is for the little people doncha know!
Cut it, cut, cut cut, slash, slash we don’t need filet mignon all the time when hamburger will do.
