What do you expect? Dissent is now unpatriotic.
The egomaniacal Boneheads at The Crimson believe their opinions matter to anyone.
They’re wrong.
The writers could have replaced those 5 paragraphs of fluffy trash with four words: “we don’t tolerate dissent” or “free speech is dead (unless you agree with us)”.
“Turned against”? Good grief. Harvard’s Crimson staff needs to put on their big girl panties and learn to deal with people not fawning all over them.
As opposed to what? Successful older men who have real world experience now and see through your BS, who aren't afraid to call you on it?
Perhaps you should ask yourselves if they haven't got a point in what they say instead of dismissing them outright like the faithful little commies you mostly are.
Did they sign a “Loyalty Oath”?
Or will that soon be a requirement?
Pinheads, indeed!
We cannot let any of our graduates think for themselves, now can we?
They’re trying to write an anti-blasphemy law to forbid perceived blasphemy of Harvard. And to think that institution started as a seminary . . .
I thought it was a lampoon.
Apparently it isn’t.
Harvard has made itself a laughingstock; the quintessential close-minded, ideologues frozen in their own groupthink. If they were Soviets, we’d call them “conservatives”. Think about that one.
Seems like to me it was the Ivy League types that got us into this derivative mess with the houses that led to the worldwide crash several years ago.
Living in the Harvard environment really is like going to another planet.
” attempts to curry favor with the more anti-intellectual members of our body politic. “
Typical liberal tactic: if you disagree with them you are labeled a moron followed by a tantrum of name calling.
P.T. Barnum never managed to gather as many clowns in one place as Cambridge Massachusetts.
Bulldoze Harvard and construct a vast pig sty. America will get more benefit from Harvard that way.
I rest my case.
Who’s Bill OReilly?
If a young liberal were working from within to change a conservative church or college or if an older church member or alum bad mouthed such a church or school, if the Crimson cared or noticed it would probably applaud him or her.
But once institutions go liberal, dissent and criticism are discouraged by liberals or progressives.
There's also an absence of nuance here. I'm pretty sure Romney didn't attack all Harvard professors or students or alumni. I'm not sure his comments may not have been at least in part gentle tongue in cheek ribbing. I doubt O'Reilly said all Harvardians were pinheads, and the list of people he has called pinheads includes many non-Harvardians.
But it does look like the Crimeds were able to write a whole article on this topic without mentioning George W. Bush, HBS Class of 1975. A sign that things are changing?
The usual tactic of the left: call your opponents stupid. If you agree with them you are as smart as they are and must also be worthy of lording it over the rest of the world, which is what they would like to do in the end. This is how I believe they bully the college youth into agreeing with their ideas. Who likes to be thought of as dumb?
Havard grads will control and rule the NeoEuropa wasteland of the Northeastern states purged from America.
