WALL, Pa. East McKeesport police said a 24-year-old mother left her 8-month-old baby alone in a wooded area Wednesday evening with only a one-piece on and a bottle of milk.
According to the criminal complaint, Jennifer Cutruzzula told officers she intentionally left the child near Irwin Street in the Borough of Wall because she wanted a "fresh start."
"She admitted she put the baby there, left a bottle of milk with the child and said she had been overwhelmed," said East McKessport police Chief Russ Stroschein.
Investigators said a person living near the area saw Cutruzzula walk into the woods and leave the child. That neighbor called 911 and then rescued the baby.

Well, she’s gonna get one..........
Well you know, in Obama’s world if a woman makes a mistake she shouldn’t be punished with a baby.
probably a very casual thing for her too
ugh
Good God, turning the child over to an adoption agency was just too much of a strain?
This one of the bitter fruits of the amoral mindset of “choice.” Don’t want that commitment? Cast it aside and forget about it.. it’s all about YOU!
Exactly how is this morally different from hiring Planned Parenthood to murder your baby before birth? Her mistake was in doing the job herself, and failing, instead of hiring a professional.
As the father of a five month old, I couldn’t imagine leaving my precious one alone for a SECOND.
She will get a “fresh start” in prison.
Remember those a$$inine laws - you can take a baby to a fire station and leave him there and walk away and no one will hassle you about it?
I knew the dumb law wasn’t working. A person who would leave her baby at a fire station wouldn’t give a $h!t about leaving him in a dumpster. Typical stupid liberal law.
Maybe they’ll change the liberal law so as to pay the mother for leaving the baby. EBT card of course.
The fact of being a parent to a 5 month old has nothing to do with it. You would not let any harm come to my 21 month old neice, either. It has to do with fundamental decency. You have some, this mother had none.
Yep...and her dance card is going to be full in the State Pen.
All these hospitals around with signs saying you can leave a baby there and she goes into a woods.
And is there a dad in all this? Bad choices, mental illness, and severe (real) post partum may have combined to help this criminal act along.
I agree with you. Not to excuse the behavior but this woman sounds mentally unstable. the only thing I can think of is that she has severe post=partum depression as she said she was “overwhelmed”. Her behavior just doesn’t make sense otherwise...she knew people saw her, she didn’t kill the child. I would want to evaluate her mental status, as well as find out if she is abusing drugs and what her home situation is like.
the authorities will no doubt do all that and maybe there is a relative that can take the child.
I do give her credit for not having an abortion and not “harming” the child. the behavior here doesn’t make sense otherwise.

That is not true. For hundreds of years women have left their babies on doorsteps or in special cradles avaible at monostaries and convents. Many women who are unable to manage the child would love a no questions asked way to give up custody.
I agree that sicko breeders should be abe to drop off their children in a safe place.
This woman has a screw loose and hopefully will get a new start in prision for attempted murder.
I agree as to your premise but I sense a deeper concern.
The young woman was overwhelmed with caring for a child, presumably alone. Her isolation had to be palpable, unmitigated by adult interest or paternal involvement. I can imagine the extremity of her isolation extending even to her child.
A fresh start meant for her the death of her life and that of her child. Her act was a kind of suicide, mitigated only by continuing to breath.
Her awareness of the desperation of her plight notwithstanding this is a lost soul trapped in hell.
Should she be adjudicated? Certainly.
Should we seek to bring the love of Christ to her? With absolute certainty.
This has been going on for millennia. Not much has changed in human nature, eh? This is sad, but I am thankful the baby is all right. Better off without that poor excuse for a mom.
He’ll, the left probably will get all kind of indignant and spin this as just a sixth-trimester abortion and the poor woman is being badgered for exercising her constitutional right.
