If you thought some of Seth MacFarlane's Oscar jokes were off-color, you'll never believe that The Onion tweeted about this year's youngest nominee.
The satirical news organization has come under fire for posting a nasty tweet about nine-year-old Best Actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (you know, the adorable little girl who's been carrying around puppy purses all award season?).

A cursory examination of The Onion will find LOTS of material that will offend many people. Suddenly the bigoted media is repulsed by this crap?
Christianity and Palin kids are laudable targets in the liberal mind.
The Onion lost all relevency when they went hard Left politically.
Before they moved out of Wisconsin and to New York, they were slightly left (which comedians aren’t?) but they went “Full Retard” for Obama in the past five years.
Half of the stuff they write isn’t funny, and the other half is heavily contrived.
The attempt at humor is, of course, done by denigrating someone whose character is impeccable. Kind of the reverse of a jest about Clinton being full of fidelity, or Obama loving America.
What the hell kind of name is THAT? How's it supposed to be pronounced?
Dartboard name.
This is the end result of shock comedy. It started in the 50s and 60s and each generation of comic has had to be more shocking to get the audience to laugh. So now we have some comedy writer trying to shock people into laughing by calling a 9 year old a “c___t.” Before this comedy writers tried to get laughs by having sweet old ladies using the foulest of four letter words and talking graphically about sex. Hopefully this shows that shock comedy is in its death troes.
Our culture is going to hit rock bottom sooner or later. It’s not far from it yet.
The only place to go from here is live human sacrifices to satan.

Already happening - but it’s called “abortion.”
I find that especially offensive too. My pet peeve is disrestpectful young kids who swear in a movie.
My adult daughter once brought over some Adam Sandler "comedy" for us to watch one night. Right off the bat, in one scene a child curses openly at an adult. I left the room and told her why. Shortly after that, she turned the movie off.
I still want my two minutes back, though!
We have that already - it’s called abortion for convenience.
I'd guess her parents just randomly punched keys on a keyboard.
That are the odds that she get all snotty if you don't pronounce it just like she wants? It seems like the more bizarre the spelling, the offended the person get if you cannot pronounce it correctly.
Sorry - I left out the word “more” in the last sentence. Why do I always notice things like that just as I hit post?
she young actress is the daughter of Qulyndreia, a teacher, and Venjie Wallis, Sr., a truck driver. “Quven”, the first part of her name, combines her parents’ first names, while her mother has stated that zhané means “fairy” in Swahili.
Ridiculous.
Maybe kind of like "Quetzalcoatl".
Every time I see her name, I think "Quetzalcoatl".
I can't pronounce that either!
Cute kid with her puppy handbag on the red carpet.
