Putting it another way, Lake Michigan contains 1,180 cu mi of water, and 1 cubic mile = 3 379 200 acre feet, or 4.3 million times the amount Nestle can suck out. And that doesn't include what's in Lake Huron, essentially a part of Lake Michigan.

If you convert these figures to cubic kilometers, you can easily compare this to the figures given in Wiki or UN data around the World for water behind large dams. The (lack)of fresh water poured into the oceans via rivers is made up for by rain over the oceans and water temps melting ice at the poles. The weight alone could be changing the spin and tilting of the Earth.

Don’t laugh. That’s His next project after He gets finished with gun confiscation. Never waste a good crisis, my papa always said.

Everything this phony communist president does is so downright stupid and at the same time evil that it should make honest Americans puke, then go do something about it!

Yes, but the Evaporation Nation is protected by those most fearsome Viking Kitties of ZOT. So we can’t mess with them.

Canadian billionaire Maurice Strong, the guy who wrote the foundation of UN Agenda 21, first tried to make millions in a similar monopolistic scam with American Water Development.

Lake Michigan is at an all time low, it is starting to effect shipping and commerce. Yes, this is having a dramatic effect on those of us who live here.

My gut and common sense tell me that there are other factors contributing to Lake Michigan's falling levels. I'm sure the observed effects are dramatic, but I believe there's a more complicated answer.

Rate of the water returning. It’s not difficult to imagine its being removed faster than it can be replenished.

Removed faster than it's being replenished, but by what mechanisms? Certainly not by water bottling alone. A single decent rain storm can probably dump more water into the lake than the bottler can remove in a year.

And who's to say the lake level doesn't fluctuate over time? I'll bet records show that it does.

And whatever they’re doing in Congress seems mutual.

The amount of water being sold isn’t foolish. More absurdly, it will require about 200,000 gallons of petrol to transport that much bottled water without additional shipping loads from Lake Michigan to China.

It would be much cheaper to just sell them packets of dehydrated water and let them rehydrate it when it gets there.

“Barack Obama is keeping his promise to lower the sea levels, and he’s starting with the drought plagued Midwest where Lake Michigan water is being shipped by the boat loads over to China!”

Could you please explain how taking 250,000 gallons of water a day from Lake Michigan would lower sea levels?

The article you posted and purported to be accurate states that the water taken from Lake Michigan would lower sea levels.

China has one of the longest rivers in the world. They don’t have enough water? Does China really want to depend on the US for water? Seems like they could source it from somewhere else. Not sure about this article.

Sounds like Nestle is actually ripping off the Chinese.

Johnson's Wax has been drawing fresh water from Lake Michigan through a 36" pipeline from six miles inland. Their product line of cleaning products and waxes is largely water.

Great. You are completely missing the point.

Who’d drink Great Lake water?

Probably all the people serviced by the water systems of both Grand Rapids & Wyoming, MI. Both have huge pipelines getting their water off the Lake Michigan coast.

Drinking Great Lakes water? Oh my, those poor souls.

Alaskans are spoiled with the glacial fed ground water resource. Water comes outta my well at 38 degrees year around.

So I guess that's what happened to Detroit?
