If 0bama The Punk had his way, this guy would be charged with treason and blasphemy.
So would I, for the above few words.
The permit question is irrelevant as the accused does not work in the City of Houston permits office.
Will Obama, the narcissist, order the prepping up a drone to kill this “defacer” without due process?
I would vote for a conviction and community service. He should be ordered by the court to spend one weekend a month neatly painting over unsightly graffiti in the town - starting with murals that celebrate communist or socialist icons of evil, such as Che/Stalin/Mao/Hitler/Chavez/Obama murals.
You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately many on our side have been falling into the left’s trap of ‘rights for me but not for thee’ attitude. They think it is fine to deface private property simply because they don’t like it. True conservatives should be protecting these rights even if they don’t like the subject matter.
What’s funny is I see many of those on this thread jumping on zot threads screaming private property when trolls come here and trash up threads. They understand the private property argument in that case.
Defacing graffiti is now a Fluken FELONY in this country?! Are you kidding me? This Nazi Obama regime is tough!

Per the article, the mural was legally permitted.

[snip] This week I gasped in horror when I learned that Obama care had ordered Medicare to cut reimbursement for 4 million diabetic seniors by 66%. [/snip]
“that’s a campaign advertisement complete with date.”
I would agree if I were on the jury. In Ohio, campaign posters must be removed within 24 hours of an election or they could be fined.
However, it support of “freedom of speech”, I can’t condone vandalism.
Let it stand proudly as a reminder of what disaster befalls a once proud nation when liberals are allowed to control the message.
Disappointed that urine wasn’t involved
how a felony??
Are you saying that in the State of Ohio, the government can come on to your private property and remove a campaign sign 24 hours after an election?
That would violate the federal Constitution.
Maybe the next defacing should be a big red “V”
It is a felony because Texas law says that it is a felony.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
And this one is a state jail felony:
§ 28.03. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. (a) A person commits an
offense if, without the effective consent of the owner:
(1) he intentionally or knowingly damages or destroys
the tangible property of the owner;
(2) he intentionally or knowingly tampers with the
tangible property of the owner and causes pecuniary loss or
substantial inconvenience to the owner or a third person; or
(3) he intentionally or knowingly makes markings,
including inscriptions, slogans, drawings, or paintings, on the
tangible property of the owner.
(b) Except as provided by Subsections (f) and (h), an
offense under this section is:
(1) a Class C misdemeanor if:
(A) the amount of pecuniary loss is less than
$50;
The perp will be looking at four walls in his prison cell.
how can spray painting take away someone’s 2nd Amendment rights? See this is where it’s getting crazy, crimes that have nothing to do with guns, or violence, result in gun rights being taken away.
Things that were misdemeanors now are felonies and it’s just another way government is using to disarm people. Whether or not guns or violence had anything to do with it.
There are no Second Amendment rights being taken away here and this case has little to do with the Second Amendment except that the property owner could have exercised his Second Amendment rights by shooting the person who was defacing property.
The issue is not that it was a political sign but rather that it was private property and in Texas if you enter on to someone’s property and intentionally cause damage, it is a felony.
