Male student fights to wear dress to prom
That’s always mystified me. The Bible says Lot was a good man, but yet he offered up his virgin daughters to the mob. Why didn’t he ask the angels in his house for help? I’ve never understood that.
Lot certainly typifies a weak Christian with a lack of judgment, and offering his daughters to the Sodomites, even if done with right motive, is obvious horrendous, and which no one would do today, and getting drunk and what followed cannot be condoned, but if he is a horrible example of a Christian, whom you hope typifies NOBODY, let us objectively compare Lot with western Christians today.
Lot immediately offered the holy strangers to stay with him and receive his hospitality, , even before they announced their intention to stay in the street all night, after which he constrained them to receive it. (Gn. 19:1-3)
Today, very very few Christians in the West would even allow a couple Christian brothers in a strange city, or even church member, to stay with them even though they have room. The most that maybe 95% of churches would do for a Christian in a strange city is to put them up in a hotel for a night - after you make an appointment to see the pastor on Tuesday.
We can explain this away as being cultural, but we are not sppsd to be conformed to culture.
In the midst of a city aggressively given to rampant fornication, Lot had two daughters who were virgins, and others who were married.
How many Christian families today, even those of pastors, can claim 2 daughters of marriageable age are still virgins, and no others are living in sin.
Lot risked the lives not only of his own family, but loving God more than self, his risked his own life by interceding with the lustful sodomites.
This attempt indicates a lack of judgement akin to Chamberlain supposing Hitler was a man one could appease, but in risking his like for brethren Lot did what few Christians would do today.
There is never any intimation that Lot, though reluctant to suddenly leave all possessions behind, and fearful to stay in a mountain wilderness at night, was ever willfully rebellious against the Lord, and prayed to God for His permission to stay in a city (which he left to go to the mountain once day came).
Meanwhile, his drunkenness, though inexcusable, was after loosing everything but his two kids, and was likely in depression, and as Scripture states his was not conscious of what he was doing with his daughters, then we must assumed the same.
Just saying in some way Lot seems better than some other Christians.
I found the story but when I click on the link, I got this CBS pages with all manner of stories.
Oh, well I saw it.
The boy is daft in the head.
Hell let him go naked if he wants! Why suppress and bully the kid!
Like the one that could not wear his Kilt!
A Kilt is not a dress.
