WASHINGTON Less than a year before Americans will be required to have insurance under President Obama's healthcare law, many of its backers are growing increasingly anxious that premiums could jump, driven up by the legislation itself.
Higher premiums could undermine a core promise of the Affordable Care Act: to make basic health protections available to all Americans for the first time. Major rate increases also threaten to cause a backlash just as the law is supposed to deliver many key benefits Obama promised when he signed it in 2010.

Duh. Even a fifth grader could see this coming.
Funny how we predicted this disaster from day 1
Is Obama smarter than a 5th grader?
he will blame insurance companies and force single payer.
I’ve already had my rate shock, thank you so much, Barry.
Oh, and by the way, FUBO.
I dropped coverage since mine went to so high. self employed - went up insanely.
F obama and every liberal piece of $%^^&
Health care is becoming the exclusive right of those directly connected to the federal government through employment, retirement, or benefits
Everyone else has to consider the cost.
Time to evaluate off-shore medical options for folks who think they may actually need medical care some time
Just on this alone how can it be thought that Obama is anything but a complete uncaring liar?
No kidding!
Yes, there will be a ripple through the economy when the government has to cut spending, but nothing compared to when most American families have to pay more for medical insurance.
Gee...who could have possibly foreseen that extending care to more people and requiring plans cover more services would cause costs to go up?
You would have had to have mastered basic arithmetic or something.
I’m fuming mad over this still.
Not only am I dealing with rate shock, but I also am dealing with the fact that my FSA allowance has been cut in half. So once I hit $2,500 in out of pocket expenses, I will now be taxed on the next $2,500 of out of pocket medical costs I incur.
Good. Everyone needs impacted so they stop voting for and supporting these anti-American LIB asshats. Suffer all.
I wonder what exactly they are afraid of, and what they are prepared to do if their worst fears are realized....repeal????
What about this really scares them?
Only the True Believers in Unicorns and Obama at the LAT and NYT thought that you could insure 30 million more people and that it wouldn’t “cost a single dime more.” In fact, the cost of health care would go down.
No sane person would believe such a fairy tale, and everyone will soon see how stupid the Left really is.
[sigh]...once again....
The RATE SHOCK is PART of the PLAN!
The whole game here is to have panicked masses marching on D.C. demanding Single Payer before Barry finishes Term 2.0
