BENSALEM, Pa. -

A gun buyback program in Bensalem Township was met with some competition.

People lined up to turn in their unwanted weapons Wednesday night.

Township officials offered between $50 and $200 for each weapon. They say they hope the buyback will reduce gun violence in the township.

Outside, a group of gun advocates set up a table offering a better price to people carrying high-quality weapons.

Another group assisting a turn in event. They should have been invited inside, it would have been more comfortable, it would have stretched the turn in budget, and given those who did not know the value of their property a better deal. The firearms would be taken "off the streets" and into responsible hands.

What’s the law in PA? Can you simply walk into a gun shop and buy what you want?

Yes. Provided you have no disability to possess/own and the cash, most definitely yes.

The PSP runs its own “instant” background check that every buyer has to pass prior to purchasing from a dealer.

Private sales F-T-F between Pa residents require no such check.

Why of course you can buy anything you want. Just like at gun shows(except in Harrisburg.). Anybody can sell anything with no checks of any kind. NOT! Private sales are just that. PRIVATE. Gun shops and shows must follow the same background checks regardless.

Read somewhere that firearms sales are up like 91% since hussein’s first immaculation. So, some really simple comparative/statistical math would seem to indicate that with that many newly acquired firearms, the incidence of mass shooting should be way bigger than it is. But, even the FBI/DOJ stats show a decline in crime. How could difi be wrong on this issue? Uh, because she’s an idiot?! Of course that might be disrespectful to idiots.

As is the case in most states.

Here in Colorado, all gun show sales are already required to be subject to background checks, so there is no "gun show loophole".

Notice that the language has changed now, though. It's no longer the "gun show loophole", it's the "background check loophole".

ALL private sales are in the cross-hairs.

Full registration being the goal (for starters).

Yeah, well, apparently not so in CentralCal. You try that in someplace like say, San Jose or Santa Clara, not only will the cops come over and harass you for Driver’s Licence, Registration, Proof Of Insurance (”You drove here, didn’t you? Show it. Came on the bus? Did anyone see you get on or off it to verify?”), other Photo ID, Firearms Dealer’s Certificate, and a Concealed Carry Permit to name just a few, if you give them any attitude then they threaten to arrest you “on suspicion of being a drug dealer”. Really.

You are correct. California has outlawed private sales. Sales must be done through a state approved agent (FFL).

That is the system the Democrats and Barrack are trying to impose on the whole nation.
